Mauritius has always sounded like and advertised as the dream tropical island and when you book with your travel agent or on the web you are driven by the white beaches, luxury hotels and the vision of a tropical island.
The le Coco Beach hotel is situated on its own white beach perfectly clean and manicured each morning.
The hotel is only a 3 star hotel and its fair to say, showing its age.
We had a room overlooking the beach it was clean and the sheets and towels were changed each day.
the bathroom was a big dissapointment mold on the tiles and fitting falling off.
The hotel did do there bestto rectify the problems however it did take the edge off the excellent servic of the staff.
We were going to upgrade to a superior bungalow, but overall the room with its view was the better option.
our package was all inclusive and i am glad we had it, because the cost of food and drink was just to expensive for a 3 str hotel.
However the food was the best we have had on holiday of this type.
The evening self service buffet was an eating extravaganza of freshly cooked food of all nations and the staff were superb as they were at lunch and breakfast.
However the food off set the canteen style resturant, seating about 500 people and could had been better with cloth table cloths and cloth napkins, being clean and simple was the theme.
For a more intamate option we eat most lunch times and evenings in the boathouse resturant on the beach.
Now this was an eating extravaganza you would expect from a tropical island, the food service ambiunce was brilliant, food cooked just for you, service the would put some top London resturants to shame.
The hotel is advertised as a couples, honeymoon and family hotel.
We found it very orintated to families, as a couples holiday acceptable and for honeymooners, we would have been dispointed if it was our honeymoon destination.
Lots to do both during the day and at night, and the water sports a very good free bonus.
The hotel offers for about £18.00 an under the sea walk that was an experience that you must do, walking with the fish and coral.
Mauritius as a destination was not the tropical paradise we expected and had the feel of a third rate holiday destination the only excurtion we did was the walk with the lions an experience that will never be beaten again, go on to the web and look at the walk with lions Maurituis web site, i could not do it justice tell you about it.
Overall the hotel was not the paradiseresort we were expecting and the island is a very expensive and more inustrial than tropical.

Welcome to Ciao. This is a pretty good first review, but a bit more structure (maybe separately-headed paragraphs for the different aspects of the hotel), and a run through spell-check would have improved it further.
