Advantages: Excellent french food Disadvantages: price
...I have been to Le Colombier a number of times over the last years and every time the food has been excellent. The restaurant is run and owned by "Didier" who also us manage the Brasserie St. Quentin on Brompton Road. The food is quite similar to that of a typical brasserie in paris. Starters include foie gras, crab salad, oysters, grilled goats cheese, onion soup all of which are excellent. For the main course there are a range of grilled fish and meats. I have always particularily enjoyed the grilled filet steak with suace bernaise and french fries - absoltely mouth watering!! For desert I can highly recommend the creme bruleé. The wine menu is also very extensive and caters for all tastes.
All in all I can recommend Le Colombier to anyone who wants to have a good french meal in comfortable and not to loud sorroundings. One thing...

Florence spreads itself along both banks of the River Arno and is surrounded by hills. Anatole France once wrote, "... The God who made the hills of Florence was an artist." It seems the proud people...

Advantages: Well laid out city, absolutely tons to see, incredible art, great shops, GELATO! Disadvantages: One day is nowhere near enough
...I first went to Italy the summer of my A Levels, but since I spent my stay working and not holidaying, I didn’t get much chance to see the country. Ever since, I’ve vowed to go back, and since Ryanair were offering free flights from Frankfurt Hahn to Pisa, now seemed the perfect opportunity. I only had 3 days there, but I managed to see a lot, including parts, although not all, of Pisa, Florence and Lucca. I’m not going to tell you absolutely everything about everything in Florence with this op for a number of reasons. Firstly if you wanted that you can read a guide book, and secondly, I didn’t do or see absolutely everything. What I will do though, is take you on a walk through the city. It’s the route I took, and it takes you past a lot of important sites and monuments. The details in brackets after...
