I am writing this in a review spot to save any confusion, Le Gastronome was known nationally and recieved many reviews in national press and such like. So people may be travelling to Brighton and try to find it. As it is no longer trading I felt it would be a good idea to let people know. As a result this will not be a full indepth Ciao review, so please don't mark me down as unhelpful or somewhat helpful on this as it is a non existant place now!
As I mentioned Le Gastronome is no longer trading. It is a shame as it was one of the finest French Restaurants in Sussex. Run by Alan and Linda it served authentic French Cuisine.
It is a great shame it has gone as I spent many a Friday night in there with friends over a decent bottle of wine, looking forward to the fantastic food. Even though I am a strict vegetarian Alan the chef would make me a special dish, try getting that in most other authentic French restaurants.
Le Gastronome used to source it's produce locally and you could tell the food was fresh and wholesome.
The iceing on the cake, however was Alan's desserts, the tarte aux pomme was delicious, to this day I still have not tasted such beautiful pastry and I go to France a lot!
Happy memories!
