Le Grand Hotel Des Gobelins, Paris

Advantages: Lots to see and do, the metro,
Disadvantages: Eating out can be expensive, everyone else is there too (everyone loves Paris)

...towards the Arc de Triomphe in one direction (as this square is the beginning of Champs Elysées) and a view to Jardin des Tuileries and the Louvre in the other direction. I continued my walk along the river Seine towards the beautiful bridge of Pont Alexandre III. There are two granite pillars on each side of the bridge with golden statues on top. Again it is possible to get good views. On the bridge itself you can look towards the obelisk on Place de la Concorde, look towards the golden dome of the Dôme church and Hôtel des Invalides and you also get a good view to Grand Palais. I walked across the bridge, looked at the other tourists and helped some couples taking pictures with a nice Paris view in the background and took some pictures myself of course. Advantages: One of the most beautiful cities in the world
Disadvantages: Not enough time to do every thing you canin Paris

..., but this place is really about the view. From practically every table you can see Paris’ entire bewitching skyline. The scenery inside isn’t bad either, with the waiting staff working the slick interior like runway models. If the weather's warm, ask for a table outside. For an unconventional bite, try Le Palanquin, an elegant and charming eatery in the Sixth Arrondissement serving wonderfully fresh and carefully prepared Vietnamese cuisine. The welcome is warm and the dumplings are to die for. While Paris is full of sidewalk cafes, certainly the gayest and trendiest has to be the slighty down-at-heel but painfully hip Cafe Beaubourg. Advantages: Location, Room Size
Disadvantages: Facilities offered were minimal.

...and Disneyland Paris. It is also in walking distance of Montmartre and Le Galleries Lafayette. I felt that our hotel was in a prime location making it easy for us to get around the city. Paris itself is a very noisy city; being the capital of France this should be expected. There is always a lot of noise around including during the evenings and at night time. The fact that our hotel was situated in such an area did not make it any better; this was clearly visible with our balcony doors open. However, the hotel offers soundproofed rooms, as standard to combat this noise, of which I will go into more detail later. Overall for the location I would give it a 9/10, we never struggled to find anything that we were looking for, apart from the hotel itself in the first instance.
