compromise between the conviviality of a guesthouse and a charming hotel. The cuisine is authentic and the Mas de Peint welcomes an exceptional 1250 acres of horse-riding terrain, at your disposal. Reaching this haven of peace requires a walk along the row of Plane trees and laureate rose bushes between a rice plantation and reeds, that lead to the residence. In the shade, the meshing of thickets and shrubs is a veritable invite to the softness of living. Once through the large, arched front doors, the paved entry walkway gives away what is to come ; this particular hotel of character is simple and refined. Surprisingly fresh and welcoming in summer, these former stables are cacheted with the Seal de la Manade. It is the unique place that allows guests to discover the Camargue in total quietude. The Mas de Peint kitchen is the ideal spot to have an intimate dinner for two, or for delightful gatherings among friends, in a cosy setting. What a joy to have the aromas of the Chef's spcecialties rise right under your nose : the beef of the Mas, fresh Mediterranean fish, and vegetables from the kitchen's garden. Everyday the Chef will have guests discover his talent by creating for you a unique menu combining fresh products from the Mas with his "savoir-faire gastronomique".

They both speak fluent French and English which is reassuring.
The grounds
The masde l’hermitage was originally a farm where lilies were grown. There is a large wooded area that is terraced. You go up a narrow driveway off the main road through the vineyards to reach the farm. Be warned – this isn’t tarmac and isn’t suitable for low-slung suspension so I was a bit worried about my car bottoming out it. There’s a parking area under tall pine trees. The farm building itself...

...beds at midnight.
We noticed the temperatures were warmer along the S coast, reaching 22 degrees, but back in Provence the temperature was variable and often cold, our last day in Provence we spent a very cold day in the fascinating village of Fontaine De Vacleuse with Le Mistral blowing..this village has a mysterious spring from unknown source, a water mill and a paper factory..we walked around in our winter coats but enjoyed the day all the same. We headed home next day all with heavy hearts, sorry to be leaving Provence, but there is always next year. :>))...

.... It is also suitable for meeting with your family or friends if you want something a little special. Perhaps you want to relive last year’s holiday in Provence?
You can probably guess that I think this restaurant is certainly one to visit if you want something a little special in the big bad city. It is just a stones throw away from numerous bars and clubs in Smithfield and Farringdon such as Bed and Match.
It is open for lunch as well as dinner. For more information or bookings call 020 7608 1609
