My wife and I visit the Dom regularly and it cannot be faulted. Central location next door to the Cathedral, close to the main shopping areas and 5 minutes walk from the River and the Old Town. We have visited for the Christmas Markets - and if you have a cathedral view room you can feel the market right outside your window, listen to the hustle and bustle and hear the musical enterainment. We have also visited the Koln Carnival and were woken every night at 1.00am by a full marching band parading up and down outside of the hotel - the locals told us it was part of the Carnival proceedings!!! Lke all Meridien hotels the restaurant is excellent ( the sunday brunch is something to behold ), the rooms are spacious and well appointed - the hotel was completely refurbished in 2003 and staff friendly and welcoming.
