...If you fly to Milano try to avoid this airport! Is awful. It is a new airport but it has everything that reminds you the 70s. Is green, huge. You have to pay for the trolley 2000 lire (so you must have it) or you can use your credit card, than if you are lucky when you put it back it give you the money back. Do they think you are going to stolen the trolley?! To go where the airport is far from everything! So, if you can, fly to Milano Linate....

Advantages: Range of goods is phenomenal Disadvantages: So is the price!
...Milan undoubtedly has some of the finest designer boutiques in Europe, and the scope is incredible, with more or less entire streets filled with designer boutiques. Of course with the Italian Lire, the price tags run into the millions, and there is very little that anyone coming on holiday can really afford to substantially overhaul their wardrobe. Indeed becasue of Milan's status, there almost seems to be a slight premium on prices of clothes - a Milano tax! All the international names are present in Milan as well as a whole host of Italian designers, whose work is bubbling under the surface ready to make the big breakthrough. For an up and coming designer Milan is wonderful as you can see what is in and what to go for for next season, but for mere mortals, the prices are a bit out of the range of everyday shoppers....

...Pavia is a small town very close to Milan (just 30 km from Milan) if you go to Milan for business you should go to Pavia. You can take the train from Milano Centrale and in 30 minutes you are out of the busy city in an other small world. Is an old university town, full of students and rich of art. A lot of Romanic churches, the Visconteo castle, the river Ticino and also lovely shops, pizzerie and restaurants. Yoy can' miss the "aperitivo" in Piazza Vittoria, and you can see all the students around there very chatty....
