this hotel is probably the most unique hotel in the world as it is the one which you wake u and can actually see the great pyramids from, so close that you think you can reach out and touch them!! ok not that close but you know what i mean.
we stayed here and it is literally awesome how close you are to the pyramids, waking up and seeiing them in their glory, was fantastic. so in this respect, it is a fantastic place to stay.
my advice would be that if you plan to come to cairo for a couple or 3 days from your holiday base n egypt, then split cairo up into 2 parts. downtown where you are near the nile and the hubbub of the city. and Giza, where you see the pyramid, sphinx etc. at Giza, stay overnight in this hotel so you get the best location, at an affordable price.
downsides are that when you book, be very specific about wanting a pyramid view room, as they may put you in a room overlooking the car park if your not specific. also, as with a city area, it can get a bit smoggy but that al part of the exerience. another thing is that it is far from the downtown area of cairo, where there is a lot more to be seen, but you can split up your stay in cairo and spend a nght in a hotel downtown.
advanttages obviously include the lcation at not an extortionate price. the swimming pool is good, staff are good and food wasn too bad. it was great to visit the pyramids, go back to this hotel, and step out in the evening to take in the atmosphere and vibe, and explore the area (if you fancy that sort of thing).
all in all, it is a good hotel, with the location being the best bit about it. if it was located anywhere else, it would be just that, a good hotel. the pyramids really do make it what it is.
Advantages: so close to pyramids you can count the bricks Disadvantages: a bit far out for the rest of cairo
Well I chose this hotel firstly because it was the cheapest out of two! Normally I regret doing this..........but not this time.
My dad and I were travelling together and I needed to book really quickly and to find a holiday which all fitted in to one school week.
I tried every travel agent I could and finally decided to try Trailfinders. I put it off as I thought they would be expensive.
They got flights, hotel, breakfast, transfers......Everything ... ...wrong.
It didn't.
We arrived at the hotel at about 2 am and there was still staff everywhere! They were friendly and helpful.
We came down to breakfast at 8am and they were still friendly.
any question you had they drew maps, gave you phone numbers and wrote everything in two languages in case you got lost.
It was really impressive. All wood and shining brass, with a great sweeping staircase for photos.
There are 5 restaurents to choose from. ...

We stayed at Le Meridien hotel for 2 wks and we had a great time. Its located near the famous Pyramids of Giza on the west bank of the river Nile.
The views from the hotel were fantastic and there is nothing to dislike about this lovely 4 star hotel....
Our room was very spacious and really comfortable, all rooms have air conditioning and we had a tv in our room with satellite tv, a large en suite bathroom which was very clean and quite spacious ... ...daily, we also had a fridge and a large wardrobe with ample space for hanging clothes and a secure safe to keep our money and travellers cheques.
The food was realy good quality and very fresh, lots of fish, chicken and salads at the main resturaunt and there was other resturaunts serving mexican, japanese and french cusine so lots to choose from.
The staff were very friendly and helpful to us the whole time and because they were so smiley and ...

...balloon ride over Luxor and the Valley of the Kings
I changed all Train travel to Air travel and requested to stay in the LeMeridienPyramids, Cairo and in Sonesta St George Hotel, Luxor. It still came out very reasonably priced in comparison to quotes I received in the U.S. A. We paid roughly around $1,062 (excluding $175 for the hot air balloon ride and 120 Egyptian pounds for camel Ride in Giza). A few days prior to our departure, I confirmed the arrangement with them (even though I thought that they would have emailed me a conformation packet of some sort). I was glad I printed my own itinerary and made copies of all our documents. After meeting us at the airport, their services throughout the trip were very courteous, professional, customer oriented, and punctual.
Our trip itinerary was as follows:
