Le Grand Parc, Tigers and Gladiators in France?!

Advantages: Unusual and brilliant spectacle
Disadvantages: Its all in French!

stamina. I believe the park sells two day tickets as well if you want to take it more slowly. There is a hotel on site. The park is set amidst a tranquil woodland setting. There are various "walk-around" historical settings which have buildings, shops and craftsmen working. There are many people around dressed in appropriate clothing and each area is very atmospheric. There was a Medieval City, an 18th century village and also a Market Town of around 1900. There are various restaurants and snack areas dotted around these sites. We bought some drinks which seemed a reasonable price and we also took our own picnic. There were plenty of picnic areas. There were toilets throughout the park but I was informed by my son that some of the urinals were pretty much on public display so you have been warned! Now we come on to the "Spectacles ...

Le coco Hotel

Advantages: Good Food
Disadvantages: Large and shabby

Mauritius has always sounded like and advertised as the dream tropical island and when you book with your travel agent or on the web you are driven by the white beaches, luxury hotels and the vision of a tropical island. The le Coco Beach hotel is situated on its own white beach perfectly clean and manicured each morning. The hotel is only a 3 star hotel and its fair to say, showing its age. We had a room overlooking the beach it was clean and the sheets and towels were changed each day. the bathroom was a big dissapointment mold on the tiles and fitting falling off. The hotel did do there bestto rectify the problems however it did take the edge off the excellent servic of the staff. We were going to upgrade to a superior bungalow, but overall the room with its view was the better option. our package was all ...

Review of Le Coco Beach Hotel, Belle Mare

Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée -dine in style but bedrooms plain.

Advantages: Beautiful dining room
Disadvantages: Bedrooms adequate but not elegant.

We stayed at the Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée in Bergerac in November 2008 for two nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner. What follows is an honest account as possible about the hotel as I can provide. Hopefully this may help if you are planning to visit this part of the world. We flew to Bordeaux but the most convenient airport for the hotel is actually in Bergerac as the hotel lies about 2 miles outside the town. Incase you are not familiar with this part of the world these places are in the main wine growing areas, and are in South West France. Flying time from the UK is about an hour and a half if you are flying from the London areas. Easyjet will take you to Bordeaux from Luton, likewise British Airways will fly you from Gatwick, and Ryanair will fly you from Stansted to Bergerac. This area is great as it is possible to use as ...
