We were travelling to Lyon, having stayed in Paris for one night and were at Gare de Lyon far too early. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and travelling 1st. class so thought it was appropriate to have coffee at the Train Bleu. We went in and stepped back to a more leisurely time of travel. It is dark wood and leather chairs. Some business people were discussing their affairs, others like were simply travellers. Sinking back we ordered coffee. This was efficintly brought on a tray with coffee pot, sugar, milk and cups. Around us was quiet elegance and tranquility. (I could get used to such morning coffee). Toilets were old fashioned but clean and quiet. It was a perfect place to start a journey. Next time we`ll have lunch there.
