Learning about school...

Advantages: Good to read when children are starting school
Disadvantages: Long story for young children

This is one of those good old faithfuls when it comes to children's story books, and continues to be a recommended book for young children. I am in two minds about it; I read it to my own 3 children (the eldest is 16, so that shows its age) and still read it to classes of children, mainly for PSHE. THE STORY The story is, not surprisingly, about two children, Lucy and Tom, who are not old enough to start school, but played teacher/pupil in the house; obviously, Lucy plays as the teacher and if Tom is good, he is one of the class. Brilliant stereotyping, but children don't seem to notice, and anyway, it seems to be ok because Lucy is the older sibling. Anyway, moving on...the children are often bored, and Lucy is tired of having only Tom as her playmate but it seems to be bearable because she knows she is nearly five and will ...

Tribute to a Golf

Advantages: Great car, good fuel economy, well built - and extremely safe
Disadvantages: No real huge disadvantages

I've owned my Golf TDI S for almost 5 years now, and I've been really pleased with it. Unfortunately my insurance company have purchased the car back from me following a 7 vehicle pile up (not my fault!). However, I thought I'd put the experience to good use and tell you not only about how great the car is as a drive, but also show how well it can stand up to a battering. The car looks good. There's no getting away from it: when VW bring out a new shape of the Golf I invariably don't like it, but given a few weeks to get used to it, and it really grows on you. On the outside the car comes in a range of colours (I'd opted for a nice metallic blue on mine), with the mirrors and part of the bumper finished in the same colour. There are no front foglights as standard, but there are fog lights fitted to the rear. There's also ...

Need A Permanent Vacation??

Advantages: Aerosmith's career gets back on track
Disadvantages: Some songs sound a bit dated

The album Permanent Vacation was released in August 1987 under the label Geffen Records. It is Aerosmith's 9th studio album. It was produced by Bruce Fairbairn and recorded at Little Mountain Sound Studio, Vancouver, BC,Canada. Aerosmith consists of these 5 band members: Steven Tyler: Vocals/ Harmonica/ Extra Percussion Joe Perry: Lead Guitar/ backing Vocals Tom Hamilton: Bass Guitar Joey Kramer: Drums/ Percussion Brad Whitford: Guitars Aerosmith and RUN DMC's remake of Aerosmith's 1975 classic track 'Walk This Way' (from the album 'Toys In The Attic') ended in success. The band members of Aerosmith were absolutely delighted with their popularity once again being born. The album 'Permanent Vacation' was eventually put together in an attempt to keep that popularity. (No means was it a rushed album however - there are tons ...
