I have been to the Leas Cliff Hall on several occasions to watch bands such as Embrace and Pink Floyd tribute bands. I have also attended the musical Fame at this location.

The Leas Cliff Hall
There is one main arena at the Leas Cliff Hall and this consists of a large stage, with an open hall area in front on it. At the back of the hall, there are stairs which lead to upper stalls although the seating is fairly limited with only two rows all the way round.
During the concerts that I have attended, there have been no seats laid out and visitors are left to stand in the large open hall area where they can view the band on stage. The only seating available is the higher seating around the outside of the hall.
When I attended the musical Fame, the Leas Cliff Hall had been laid out in a completely different style. Rows of seats had been placed in the open hall area allowing around 200 people to be seated.
So the layout of the main arena at the Leas Cliff Hall does vary depending on which sort of event you are intending on seeing when you visit.

Facilities
To the right of the stage and main hall there is a bar which serves alcoholic and soft drinks. The bar is a medium size and is always well staffed meaning that you dont need to wait very long before you are served. The drinks are a little overpriced here which I suppose they do because they know that you cant buy drinks elsewhere and you are not allowed to take your own drinks into the venue. From the bar you can go outside to a small balcony which has now been converted into a smoking area. However, the non smokers also venture out here because the balcony overhangs Folkestone seafront and provides some beautiful views out across the sea.

Private Hire
The Leas Cliff Hall can also be hired out for private events and people can also choose to be married here if they wish.

Hospitality Suite
There is a hospitality suite that visitors can take advantage of either before of after a show. Personally I have never used this service so am unable to comment on it too much but I know that you can order drinks and pick food from a selection of menus ranging from finger foods, buffets and three course meals.

Shows
The Leas Cliff Hall holds a variety of events ranging from plays, ballets, opera, musicals, an annual pantomimes, music concerts and comedy nights. Some famous names have appeared here such as Jimmy Carr and bands such as Embrace and Katy Tunstall.

Summary
The Leas Cliff Hall is one of the highlights of Folkestone town. There is a variety of performances to choose from so there is something to suit everyones need. The Leas Cliff Hall is always clean and tiny and there is a security team ensuring that everyone behaves themselves, making any event you attend a pleasurable one.

A good review but how typical of the non smokers invading the smoking balcony. LOL.
