After discovering one of my suit jackets had been clawed and chewed apart by one of 3 furry pussy children, I decided it was time to invest in a new suit. I came into work planning on taking a lunch time trip down to Oxford Street to trawl around the over crowded, over priced high street stores, when ... ...knows !?!)

northern_lights
Advantages: Bargains galore Disadvantages: Only open Monday to Friday lunchtimes!
...you will find me browsing Leather Lane market. There aren't that many markets in London so it's great to work near one (for a full list there's a leaflet produced by London Underground which is available at train stations).

The other book stall is only there Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (not on wet days though) and he sells mostly children books, cookery, garden and reference ...

jonwhite
Advantages: Cheap prices good range of stalls Disadvantages: None
...the entire length of London's Leather Lane, Holborn. The nearest Tube station is Chancery Lane on the Central Line, that's the red one on the underground map. I always combine my visits to theis market with a trip to the International Magic Studio which is just around the corner.
The market has all the atmosphere of a typical bustling London Market and is like stepping back in time. Traders are all competing for your money so prices are cheap and ... ...a few clothing stalls so you can get kitted out with a new set of togs cheaply. The range of stalls and items for sale is varied, you can buy anything from electrical goods to fruit and veg.
A great market for overseas visitors to pick up some bargains. It gets quite busy most days particularly around Christmas Time. Well worth a visit. ...
