With all the recent development at LBA, it is certinly gearing itself up for more passengers, its a realpity it has blocked off the views from the upstairs cafe over the runways and apron, which used to be one of its more endearing facets.
Using either Amsterdam, Brussels, London or Paris as a hub you can travel the World from LBA, I recently flew to Florida via London from LBA and it was certainly great to be able to check in your baggage at LBA and not see it until arrival in Orlando..
I did email my views as a local Councillor and a Member of the Institute of Transport Administration to the Management of LBA, but I havent even had the courtesy of a reply from them, which is a shame..
So management aside LBA is an excellent startin point to your journey, it is easily accessible from all of Yorkshire and with regular connections to Leeds and Bradford City centres LBA is the airport for locals..

I recently used Leeds/Bradford for a flight to Munich via Amsterdam with KLM....the airport is now much bigger than last time I used it, with further plans for expansion, I think they have ruined the upstairs view from the cafe, by putting a stupid corridor from the ground floor to the baggage reclaim area, so you go up stairs and alsong this corridoor only to go down again to the reclaim area......stupid and poor management..I wonder how many casual visitors have been put of from visiting the Airport now..anyway, my experience from a passengers point of view was generally very good, facilities are better than ever once you go through the security check....

I spent a very privaleged evening at LBA a few weeks ago as part of the IOTA ( Institute of Transport Administration) group visit to the airport..we were all given security passes, and an excellent inside view of the airport, even taken on an airport bus around the taxiways and between landing aircraft right down the complete length of the main runway (32/14)..it was an excellent evening and the improvements made with those proposed make LBA a very attractive proposition for flights both domestic and European...all we need now are direct Transatlantic links and 'the job will be a goodun'
Congratulations to the Management of LBA on their vision for the airport..I still don't like the way you have chopped the cafeteria in half and got rid of one of the best airside views for visitors in the UK...shame on you, with a little more thought you could have come up with an alternative....

As I've got family/friends in Leeds we've used this airport several times when flying to Leeds Bradford from Heathrow with British Midland. Its a good airport because its quite small so you can't get lost easily like at Heathrow! Great opinion! Cheers, James.

I prefer smaller regional airports, I find the service is normally a bit more personal, I use East Mids alot hence my 'op' on it. Regards Phil
