Bad Hotel Advantages: Free wi-fi Disadvantages: Poor staff, poor room ...decided to stay in the Boundary Hotel which is about 5 minute car journey into the city centre. Rooms were reasonably priced; we got a single room and a "superior" double room (inc breakfast for both) for £120. The hotel itself is a 3 star hotel and is located near Headingley Cricket and Rugby Stadiums. From the outside it doesn't look like a great deal but it does has a small car park. The hotel has 16 rooms and each have free wi-fi access and ... ...the morning and couldn't wait to leave. I cant recommend the hotel to anyone as we had such a bad experience. My advice is, if you need a hotel in Leeds, pick another hotel. Our stay in Leeds Advantages: Clean and comfortable Disadvantages: None for us 42 The Calls Leeds When we visited Leeds a few weeks ago, we decided we wanted a hotel close to the city centre which would be comfortable and a general search found us booking this one. Getting there... Address: 42 the Calls LS2 7EW Leeds It’s always tricky finding somewhere in a new city, so we entered the post code into the sat nav and off we went. The only tricky bit was when we got to the centre, where there are one way streets, but this ... ...it became obvious that it was very close to the centre although in a really quiet area right next to the river, so we parked the car in a parking bay next to the hotel and went to check in. It’s worth noting here that the parking bays are free after 6pm and free all day on a Sunday so although the hotel does get reduced rates for the nearby car parks, if you are there on a Saturday night, it’s worth making use of the parking bays. Good Hotel to Stay in City Center but... Advantages: Close to City Center, Budget Hotel, Free Breakfast Disadvantages: No free internet, Not much Value for Money, Uncleanliness with some services I booked this hotel for my stay in Leeds as I wanted to stay in the city center. I have been staying in various hotels, so I had some expectations from this one as well. When you want to choose any hotel, you have few criteria in mind. I would like to write on the criteria I had in my mind, so you can take this review as per your need. Quality of hotel service: It was satisfactory, not exceptional but not bad too. Condition or maintenance of the ... ...smell (like the one when the area is closed for long time), the breakfast sitting area was clean BUT, the cutlery was not clean. I had to wipe the spoons and forks I used. They clearly were not cleaned properly. Cleanliness of room: but the rooms were maintained alright. The bathrooms were clean, but you don't get to see posh bathrooms. Comfort of room: I did not like the beds (they were spring beds, and for me, they cause back pain). Holiday Inn Express Leeds the way to good service. Advantages: Excellent self-service breakfast. Clean rooms and good facilities. Disadvantages: Rooms are a bit too small generally. Bit expensive. ...I always book into the Holiday Inn Express, chiefly because it is the closest hotel to where I need to be. Within this review I refer to my last experience of staying there about 10 months ago. Outside the building doesn't look too attractive, and the entrance is a bit basic with its blue doors and plants. However, when you make your way through the doors, the lobby is much more impressive. I was on the 6th of its 7 floors and being rather lazy, decided to take one of the 2 lifts they have. The corridor I travelled down to my room is rather luxurious, and lacks the certain cheap and tacky atmosphere that other hotels seem to adopt. Jurys inn - Cheap hotel in Leeds Advantages: Cheap, presentable hotel, good location Disadvantages: Soulless, very noisy from outside Jurys Inn, Leeds is a reasonably priced hotel that is a 10 minute walk both from the train station and shopping centre of Leeds. We stayed here one weekend in August 09 and it cost us £60 per night for a room with a double bed and a sofa bed (though it would have been squashed with 3 of us). We found the hotel clean and presentable, with reasonable facilities, but very soulless. The staff were polite, although reserved rather than warm.
