I have lived in Leeds all my life, studied here, and have now settled here post uni. I have lived in more rural areas, out of town suburbs, studentville, and even dabbled in some almost city living. It's one of those cities that has been experiencing a boom over the last twenty or so years, overtaking the other cities of West Yorkshire to become the largest, and arguably most successful. Traditionally it really began to develop as a municipality from the beginnings of the industrial revolution, being at the centre of the woollen industry, and has a long history with textiles. Just look at how Marks and Spencer began!

Advantages: amazing reputation for teacher Disadvantages: very hard to get on a PGCE- u gotta be good
I'm not sure what university you've been to but it's not the Leeds Met that im at!
I am in my third year of a Secondary PE teaching, (by the way Headingley campus is for sport and education) and it is fantastic. The course tutors are always in touch via e-mail or free so you can pop into their office. For the bloke that said lectures are cancelled re-sheduled etc, did you have extreme?? The facilities are unmatched- with the astro, track, tennis hall etc. The only downside is that the swimming pool is pretty poor and im a swimmer.
I think the guy who said you need poor qualifications to apply should try getting on a PGCE course, you are expected to get a 2:1 or ablove along with coaching qualifications, teaching expereince and interview very well....not easy!!
To be honest i dont know much about the campus in town but if you ...

Leeds is now the most popular choice for undergraduates and has the largest number of undergraduate applications in the UK. With over 23,000 undergraduates alone, Leeds is an excellent place to study.
When deciding on which university to attend I had certain things I was looking for and so I thought I?d write this opinion based on these areas.
