Bibi's Criterion - La Dolce Vita
Review of Bibis (Leeds) by thriftyemma

Advantages: Fantastic menu, great venue
Disadvantages: No reservations for small groups

Without wanting to sound overly keen, this is the best restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of dining in. I first heard about Bibi's when it was on Greek Street, and have returned several times to its new haunt on Criterion Place. The experience at the old Bibi's was fantastic, and has only improved in its new setting. Walking through the front door is like walking back in time. Surrounded by plush extravagant mirrors, pillars and black marble ...
...set. The cocktail bar off to the right is a great place to start your evening, offering a wide selection of cocktails and bar snacks. My favourite cocktail, a Singapore Sling, wasn't on the menu. However, a quick word with the waitress and a perfectly made cocktail arrived at my table in no time. The food is spectacular. There is no other way to discribe it. There is always something different on offer on the specials menu, including seasonal fish ... Read review

Absolutely Fabulous
Review of Epernay Champagne Bar by hlmccarron

Advantages: Classy and indulgent
Disadvantages: A little indulgent price wise

...I will head off to Epernay pretending to be Patsy and Edina (I'm always Patsy) for a sophisticated evening of sipping Champagne and gossiping whilst eating continental cheese. We will get merrily drunk on bubbles and act like ladies for a whole evening, well…….until we start shouting at the taxi driver on the way home for overcharging us. So let me tell you about this little place where you can find my posh friend and I being Absolutely Fabulous…. ...
...quiz.  Epernay is a town surrounded by vines in the heart of the champagne-Ardenne region of France. (I love letting other people paddle in my fountain of useless knowledge) How Do I Get In? The bar is entranced through an archway into the courtyard (from Great George Street) Upon entering the courtyard you are welcomed with a classy but comfortable seating area edged in beautiful greenery. You can take a seat outside or head into the ... Read review

Rude staff ruined an OK pizza.
Review of Da Mario Ristorante and Pizzeria by eatingrich

Advantages: During the meal deal it's quite cheap, the pizza's aren't horrible
Disadvantages: Hideously rude staff, dated decor, overpriced alcohol

...and a friend went to Da Mario's for the £5 for any pizza or pasta deal they have between 5pm and 7pm mid-week. As we sat down we felt the decor looked a couple of decades out of date, but didn't mind as long as the food and service was good. However my girlfriend felt that as they kept the front door open and it was an open kitchen, it would have been nice to have some music in the background to try mask the sounds of the city and the cooking. At ...
...order and we sat to wait. Given that it is in the centre of Leeds we expected a little price increase over what we'd judge 'standard' prices for Italians, but we felt £4 for a small glass of wine and £14 for a bottle of house wine way too much. So we tried to ask for water but every time the waiter gave us something (cutlery, pizza etc) he immediately did an about face and walked away as quickly as he could, leaving me with my mouth open saying ... Brewsters...will I get a refund? **UPDATED**
Review of Brewsters, The Mulberry Tree, Braintree, Essex by vixingarden

Advantages: ummm...Fun Factory
Disadvantages: rubbish food, expensive, Very Slow etc

...with a lunch in the Brewsters, particularly as we have two young children who would enjoy the Fun Factory. We expected it to be reasonably busy as it was a Sunday. However, we did not expect to have to wait over an hour for our lunch was markedly different from what we had originally ordered and of poor quality. Firstly, when my husband went to place our order, his original choice was not available. He chose another dish, Chicken Italian Sandwich, ...
...he had been over charged slightly. As the queue for ordering food was so long he didn’t bother to go back and complain. We placed our order at 13.08 and at 13.50, some 40 minutes later, we asked when our food would be ready. The harassed floor manager, Ben, said he would investigate. A few minutes later a girl from the kitchen appeared and informed us that two of our choices were no longer available and there were no more baps left for my husband’s ... Read review

The Cod,the bad and the ugly
Review of Harry Ramsdens (Leeds) by jorjibob

Advantages: Fish reasonable
Disadvantages: it was open

I really like fish and chips and mushy peas and thus i assumed that Guiseley should be some sort of Mecca.Last June i was on my way to York from London and took a detour. The feeling of rabid, saliva inducing, yearning and hunger had me in a Pavlovian spell, which was somewhat apposite because what i was served with was a right dog's dinner. The fish was quite good, however the chips were an absolute disgrace;flaccid, tepid and old,i left nearly all of ...
...tatare sauce wasn't tart and the whole thing was topped of with a dismal view of a horrible car park. When asked by the nice waitress if i had enjoyed the meal,i don't think she expected the bollocking i gave it.She kindly knocked of the chips! If you like fish and chips do not waste your time on this place. ...
