First things first-Where is Legoland and how do you get there? Legoland in England is situated in windsor a very lovely part of England.
We( My son my friend and I )travelled here by car ,Legoland is on the B3022 windsor/Ascot road just 2 miles from windsor town centre.Legoland is within easy reach via the M25 and is clearly sign posted from M3 (JUNCTION 3) m4(junction 6) and all approaches. Parking is free although if you want to be SUPER CLOSE to the park you can pay starting from £5.00 (personally I thought the standard car park was close enough-less then 5 mins walk away-Don't forget where you leave your car!!).
ANYWAY!! Opening times vary throughout the year depending on when you go the park uses the following opening tiimes 10am-5pm/10am-6pm/10am-7pm (opens later for all of August)
We arrived in time to enter the park at 10am so that we could spend the whole day there!!
Two Adults plus my four year old in our small party -spending the day at lego land,As you will see in the price listing below it was not cheap to enter the park!!
Lucky for me my friend was treating my son and I to a day out so I didn't personally feel the the
ouch of that part of the day.
Now we are in the park ready and raring to go well I was anyway first we headed for the Hill Train which takes you down the centre of the park,we queued for some time-I had a feeling that this would be something we would need to get used to throughout our day!! Unfortunately for my friend and I my son wasn't feeling too adventureous and at age 4 I guess that could be understandable this meant that we couldn't go on a lot of rides as one of us would have to watch the little man while the other one spent around 45 mins to go all alone on a kiddys ride as tempting as this was we decided to look for things that he was willing to try and where possible all three of us could get on together.
We all 3 went on the boating school ride where you steer your way round in a boat with steering wheel +accelerator very simple you just get to do one lap but at least we had found SOMETHING that we could ALL do.
Next My son went for the driving school -this is where little ones between 3yrs-5yrs get to drive a few laps in a lego car and recieve a paper license at the end my son enjoyed this and it was fun for me to watch as I've never seen him drive before!! The boy did good!!
Next up was the fire academy this took some convincing and it wasn't until my sn was on it that he realised he liked it!! This ride is where there are approx 4/5 fire engines lined up and the task is to race the other engines using a pumping motion (you'll know what i mean if you go)working as a team to get the thing moving.you race in a straight line down to a mock house with water pumps standing out side once you reach this everyone jumps out and hoses the building in the target holes then once the alarm sounds everyone jumps back on there engine and races back to the start-its all good fun was a bit tired after all that pumping !!
We also went on the Dino safari and fairy tale book ride which was a boat ride- this was cool my son liked spotting all the charactors-a lovely family ride.
Ther were a lot of rides and attractions I didn't get to go on or see, as follows these are some of them:- Jungle coaster wave surfer sky rider Balloon school Spinning spider Climbing wall Carousel Ferris wheel Amazing mazes Pirate falls The Dragon The enchanted forest orient expedition space tower pirate gold wash chairoplane Magic theatre dragons apprentice water works (for small children(bring your swim wear) whirly birds (in duplo area) Duplo Train Duplo theatre Dino dipper
My son enjoyed running around on The Rat Trap for quite some time it looked fun and it was big enough for adults to run around with the kids too. Also he spent some time in the Duplo playzone (a park with slides etc, more like a usual public park)
We also watched one of the shows that were put on throughout the day this one in particular was called 'Johnny Thunder Adventures' show' this was good but if you go make sure you get a good view !!(oh and you will get wet if in the splash area)
Also we saw a racers 4D film which was good my son also enjoyed it in the build and test workshop where you get to build a model suitable for there age group abilitys or higher with the help of a parent or guardian and as you may gather test it with battery power. I've probably missed of a few attractions but I think most are listed in a round about way. There are many places to eat here plus designated picnic areas for those who bring a packed lunch(very sensible idea) I did in fact have lunch bought for me at one of the restuarants ''The big restaurant'' lunch here was nice it did remind me a little of a school canteen but was practical fairly reasonable and the kids get a free drink plus small lego toy with there meal here. also there are lego play areas in here and to look at-big fsh tanks/aquariums with lego ornaments and some unusual looking fish too!! Can't really comment on the other eating places as I havn't tried them but they all looked inviting as we walked past I think looking at them they would have probably been nicer too eat at.. other eating places inc:- Pasta Patch, Baguette bar,Burgerranch,Crossed Ribs BBQ ,Knights' Table Rotisserie , Fish & Chips,Cadbury Jungle Café plus more snack shops/icecream/doughnuts etc We also spent a fair amount of time looking at miniland-I managed to get a few pics which I hope to inc in this review.
At the end of the Day when we went back up to the entrance area to exit on the way we had a look in the Big Lego shop where my son was treated to a couple of lego toys -There are toy stands and small gift shops situated throughout the park too.
Overall I think entrance is resonably priced for the amount of things that you could do in the day (if the rest of your party is co-operative) If you have a little one and you want to go on every thing I advise you have at least three adults in your party so that you can alternate who has a go on the ride and who takes the child on something they want to go on.
Entry prices are as follows at time of this review being written:-
2005 prices
1 day pass for a child between 3-15 yrs is £22 two day ticket is £43.00 1 day pass for an adult is £24.00 Two day ticket is £47.00 Children under 3 enter the park for FREE there are also annual and lifetime passes available as follwos:- An annual Childrens pass (with restrictions) costs £39.00 An annual Childrens pass without retrictions (FULL)is £49.00 Adults annual with restrictions is £47.00 Adults Full annual pass is £59.00
Lifetime Pass £520.00 for all
There are height restrictions ranging from 0 , 90cms ,110cm,130cm with a lot of rides children need to be accompanied by an adult I think pre-teens will enjoy this most though thats not to say that some older kids wouldn't have as much fun!!
Never been myself. A fine review though and well detailed. ^_^

We're going next Monday. I've got a 4 year old too so I'm glad that there will be plenty for him to do. Thanks for the tip about the wet area too. I didn't realise that. If it's nice I'll have to remember to take swimwear.
