Firsty I am going to keep the review to the main points.
This is just my opinion and we will all make our own minds up.
Trip early July 09
Legoland Windsor.
Cost:
Cons: Well lets be honest its not cheap:
1 Day Adult Ticket (16-59 yrs) £33.30 1 Day Child Ticket (3-15 yrs) £25.20 1 Day Senior Ticket (60+ yrs) £25.20
So for a typical family of 4 its over £100.
Pros: The upside is that they must know its expensive because you can find find reductions in the ticket price all over the place. we go ours from a box of Walkers Crisps. The average reduction reduces the price of each ticket by 50%, better but still expensive.
*Top tip: Look for discount vouchers, also available on Legoland web site*
Cons: Congestion the nearer you get but this is to be expected. Parking is time consuming. £5 for prefered parking is expensive for a walk of less than 100 yrds. Not reccomended
*Top tip: Dont pay for preferred parking*
Food:
Cons: Seems like they view this as a major sorce of capital. You practically fall over food vendors as they are everywhere! The cost of food is expensive.
Pros: Well food is readily available.
*Top tip: Take your own food there are places to sit and eat with great views.*
There are lots of varied attractions, far to many to list. There is a good balance for young and old.
Excellent Views
Excellent Lego displays.
4D Cinema is outstanding a must do on the park.
Staff:
All staff on the park are very polite and helpful.
Cons:
All rides are far to short. I appreciate that everyone wants a turn, but queuing for 1hr 30 for a 30 sec ride is extreme.
Navigating the park is difficult.
A large percentage of the rides have height restrictions, this can be a problem if you have a young family.
Queuing.
Its terrible, we seemed to be permenatley in a queue!!
Queuebot: The introduction of Queuebot for me has made the problem worse, I know they say no advantage is gained but if you have been stood there for an hour and 10 people walk in before you. Its doesnt feel like they have had no advantage! And at £10....just another way for them to get more money from you, Also £10 per person... family of 4 = £40 reduction from entry fee reclaimed by queuebot.. Devious.
*Top tip: Ensure you have something to entertain the kids whilst queuing*
Overall:
Well if you can get reduced ticket prices, take your own food and dont mind queuing its a great day out.
Filling the time in between rides is the main thing you need to concentrate on if you have a young family.
I would reccomend Legoland but with the above caveats.

Advantages: Nice Model Village, Some good rides for kids Disadvantages: Expensive, outrageous food and drink prices, big queues, no in queue entertainment, dirty in places

Advantages: Many different attractions which include unique sculptures made from LEGO Disadvantages: A day is not really enough to explore the whole park.
