Hippodrome, Home, Carwash... These are just a few of the more hfrequently talked about permanent residents of Leceister Square. They're the big-time Clubs. What can I say about these clubs? Perhaps some of them are more hype than anything else but you really have got to see for yourself because of how varied each individual's tastes are. You can definitely not cover all of Leceister Square in one night or one day unless you are an overcrazed efficient robot. To seriously appreciate the area, you have to spend at least 3 days soaking up the people, the clubs, the bars, the restaurants and the international community that hangs around it. I suppose the large variety of clubs and pubs available at the area pulls in quite a large international crowd that makes it all the more appealing. Anyhow, the ODEON is also loacted close by and there is a ticket booth that makes sales of tickets that are at half price for performanes at The Strand or at some of the Theatres close-by. Rendezvous is a cafe near the Haagen Daas that sells absolutely delicious but terribly sinful desserts. They do not serve hot meals so fill your tummies before getting a morself of some dessert sinfully out of this world or go with an empty stomach to fill up with rich textured chocolate gateau etc etc. This place is a definite must go if you have a sweet tooth and if you are in the area. Other than that, Leceister Square is also home to Chinatown. Bustling little place with interesting nooks and crannys selling chinese food products that are a luxury for any member of the chinese populace dying for some "home" cooked food. All the familiar sauces of chinese origin can also be found there. However, do not expect to make cheap purchases unless you speak cantonese fluently. Also, this is a great place to be in after night out at the club. With all that heavy boozing and violent swinging, you should be feeling famished at 4 am in the morning. Chinese restaurants are open 24 hours and you can get a quick bite if you aren't already pissed drunk.
Advantages: Lots to do,good food everywhere Disadvantages: crowded, beware of pick pockets
What can I say about Leicester square...a great place.Cinemas,Theatre,Pizza,Chips,Mcdonalds, street artists,So much to do and take in.
Last time I visited I had my portrait drawn which was excellent and there's always something going on.The amount of food you can choose from is amazing,so you'll never go hungry.
Its always busy ans really close to the tube, so whether your'e just passing through or staying for a while I would recommend it.Close ... ...if youre walking as the transport can get congested in parts and accidents can happen if its crowded.
May even get a glimpse of a few celebs in Leicester square, last ime I went I saw Robbie from Eastenders.....ooo I hear you cry in jelousy!
A really good place to visit ...

Advantages: central with easy access and bustling Disadvantages: Difficult with young children
Leicester Square. Whatever you do don't visit during the day. It is uninteresting and drab. Save your visit for ealy evening when it comes alive and be prepared to stay for the rest of the night.
You will be very lucky to find a taxi and it is not worth the effort. Use the tube or bus. It is cheaper and all part of the London atmosphere. When you get there just walk around and soak up the atmosphere. You will see street performers, artists happy ... ...you can eat as much as you like. Where? In Leiester Square itself. Still bored? Well there is still the theatre where late seats are often available or the latest movies from the main London cinemas.
Leicester Square at night is a must for every visitor to London ...

Advantages: a great night out Disadvantages: no toilet facilities
...i was first told about leicester square by a good friend who visited london a lot. she used to hang out there with another group of friends who loved to have a great night out.
this was simply more than i expected it to be. i llike the food and the people and there are so many things to see and buy. one bad thing though, go to a toilet before you go there. hard to find a toilet and the stupid cinema won't allow you to use the bathroom unless you ...

Advantages: Fun, full of life. Disadvantages: Does get very busy with people!
Leicester Square is the place to be if you want 24 hour fun! Every time I visit London, one of the first places I head for is Leicester Square. There's cinemas's (2 Odion's!), cafe's, bars, restaurants (McDonalds). You name it, it's there! If you want to sit and relax for a while, that's fine! There's plenty going on to see from the comfort of your chair! The people alone are sometimes strange and wonderful. I very often see buskers there trying ... ...is also not far from Leicester Square. I could tell you about China Town, but that's a different story altogether!
Be warned, it is expensive. Although it isn't a necessity to spend money here, you probably will be paying over the odds for a cup of tea. I bought 2 cups of tea and was charged over £2 for them! Although, if you look around, there are small places down the side streets which charge less.
It's a fun place to visit, especially for the ...

Advantages: noisy fun Disadvantages: no good for agropheobics (how do you spell that?)
Never been to Leicester Square? Well it is about time you started to live a little.
Firstly, if you do go give daytime a miss because you will be disappointed. Wait until dark then it all happens.
You could, of course be going just for the cinemas but that would be a waste. So give yourself enough time to have a good look around and get a flavour of the atmosphere. Gone are the days when you would just see a one man band or a couple of tap dancers ... ...appreciate their efforts.
Now, Leicester Square buzzes. If you like the idea of the aroma of food cooked outside and do not mind the risk. If you like the idea of seeing dancers and music. If you like the idea of mime artists. Portrait painters. Body painters. Open air massages from chinese folk and people perfoming unlikely feats. THEN YOU SHOULD BE THERE! ...

Advantages: reasonable prices Disadvantages: average staff, unchanging menu
, are alright but not perfect.
The ambience of each of these Bella's is the same - if you want an example try to tell the difference between the two in LeicesterSquare! But then again, it's no worse than a pizza hut or express pizza in that respect. I ate Bella in London because I was on a budget and the prices are always at Pizza Hut levels without the place being quite as common as even the most upmarket Pizza Hut seems.
Overall, service is usually average, food on the good side of average, the menu fairly steady and the bill reasonably light. If you want a really cracking Italian treat in London then look for Tuttons in Covent Garden - whilst ludicrously expensive and not a through-and-through Italian, they will cook you whatever you like and their Italian dishes are heaven. Bella Pasta is mass-Italian on a budget, but fits ...
Advantages: Fast food Disadvantages: Unhealthy food and bad service
Sometimes I wonder why people in London work in such a hurry...they walk in a hurry, eat in a hurry. No wonder the Mcdonalds in LeicesterSquare and Chinatown are always packed with business. The most unforgettable experience I had in any Mcdonalds was the service of a girl in the Mcdonalds in Chinatown. She was not very helpful and extremely rude to me and my friend when we ordered two meals and asked to have some tomato ketchup. Without answering our questions, she told the next customer to move forward and ignore our presence. Besides that, it is extremely difficult to find seats there. Since I came to UK two years ago, I hardly go to Mcdonalds now. Firstly, the service is generally bad. The seats are not cleared as fast as they could to allow more customers to come in. The toilets are not working properly. And the meals are ...
Advantages: Huge, fresh, great Disadvantages: Cost
The Odeon LeicesterSquare is the cinema that is used for premiers. The reason being that it is one of the best cinemas in the country. It was refitted a little while ago and now has Leopard Skin seats and boasts the largest screen in the country although i can't work out if it is screen area or cinema capacity. The beverages are as standard in any cinema and food likewise. The service is excellent and the staff really take pride in the work. To book tickets either phone or use the outdoor booth that coms into use during very busy periods. The price is roughly on par with other cinemas in LeicesterSquare and is more than worth it. You will be looking at about 8-10 pounds for a film. Greta, modern, fresh cinema that is very powerful. Oh- the cinema has an upper circle (two floors) as well for one screen - wow.! ...
