The jewel in the former East Germany's crown.

Advantages: lots to do, historical interest, easy to get around, cheap
Disadvantages: better to know the language, not for families

LEIPZIG - AN ALTERNATIVE CITY BREAK

Advantages: Cheap and easy to get there
Disadvantages: Limited flights and times

Leipzig is found in the Saxony region of East Germany and was in the former GDR. Advantages: cheapish, intriguing, some amazing buildings
Disadvantages: it's still a bit grim

Leipzig wil not be everyone's cup of tea as far as a holiday destination goes. It shows it's industrial past, and is still very much under reconstruction.
