Rightly or wrongly Amiens, which is in Northern France in Picardy and geographically somewhere between Paris and Lille, doesn't really figure much on the tourist trail. Some do make it there to visit the magnificent cathedral (the largest in France and a whole other review), but when I lived there for 4 years some time back it was fairly rare to hear any English voices, and when I went back recently that was still true, bar a very vocal American asking confused locals where the "bathroom" was, there weren't too many tourists about.
