Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Marrakech

Advantages: Service, location, service, location, and service
Disadvantages: Quite liked it the way it is

With so many riad hotels to choose from in Marrakech, it can be quite daunting to know which one to choose. Dar Les Cigognes ticks lots of boxes: great location next to important sites like Saadian Tombs and Badi Palace; lot's of fine eating places nearby--the terrace at Kosybar is a nice place to enjoy a drink or a meal--though the eating is pretty good at the hotel too. There is a spa, a nice big roof terrace to enjoy the sun on, the room was spacious and well-appointed. All of this is trivial in the end compared to what makes this hotel stand out. We experienced some of the best service we have had in any hotel anywhere. nothing was trouble, and they were just so naturally helpful, friendly, it really made Marrakech come to life in the most wonderful way. Mesmering Marrakech

Advantages: Stunning scenery!
Disadvantages: food, a bit of a culture shock

eating there appeared to be locals. The Souqs This is the main shopping area in Marrakech, selling a variety of wares including clothes, furnishings, dried fruit, spices and pastries. I found it quite overwhelming at first as shop keepers compete against each other for your attention, so you are not free to browse. The market is huge and it is very easy to lose track of where you are as there are many passage ways coming off each other! Other places of interest in the old town are the Saadian Tombs and the Royal palaces and the Menara Gardens. Day Excursions not to be missed: There are several tour companies located just off the Djemaa el Fna who organise tours to the atlas mountains, the Cascade d'Ouzoud waterfalls and overnight stays in the Desert. A Safe Place In Sunny Marrakech

Advantages: good room, nice decor
Disadvantages: staff, breakfast

This summer, I had been working full time, trying to earn the money in the gap from university but decided that once I'd had a taste of sun on our one week heat wave that I needed to get away myself. I had logged onto lastminute.com to see what kind of deals and destinations were coming up as I was literally looking at anywhere but a great deal came up for Marrakech, however I didn't have the money to pay upfront and new it would be gone by the time I got paid. Since I passed by this I logged onto ebookers.com and had a look at their hotels as a lot of the other holiday deal websites were giving hotels which didn't look as great. They have Ryad's over there which are almost like a bed and breakfast idea they are not the same service as a hotel.
