Fathers Guesthouse has the perfect location on a small hill overlooking the tiny town of Tanah Rata in the Cameron highlands. Situated outside the town, but only a 3 minute walk into it, it has fantastic views and is tranquil but still has access to any activities the town has to offer.
If you call the owners in advance letting them known when you will arrive then they will collect you from the town and save the walk up the hill with heavy bags. They also tend to be one of the touts who wander the bus drop off area and so if you arrive by bus then there is almost always someone there who you can ask to get a lift up the hill.
Driving up towards the guesthouse the first thing that is obvious is that this is a beautiful area. The views from the top go right across the town and amongst the rolling hills of the area. The Cameron highlands ...

...A great wonderful place , i liked and enjoyed the heritage traditional constructed guesthouse, situated in the heart of the national monument the golden fort of the jaialmer india, the rooms are full of charactares i stayed in king room and i felt i am a maharaja and living in old royal time , roof top area allowed me to see sweeping views n enjoy the city side n touristic places like lake , jain temples ,and palace, staff and the owner are very much friendly and cooprative they did not let me feel if i am a new one foe them in their guesthouse , they took care like any thing...roof top restaurant is a beautiful place i had never tasted the indian dishes like here desert vegitagle called ker sangri is delecious ,banana lassi very much good taste and the imprtant thing is their hospitality is great,,,,camel safari they organised ...

to eat and it was after 5pm. She had a huge selection of menus for restaurants/pubs in the surrounding areas. Her knowledge of the area and places to eat were a definate bonus. Paula & George also had plenty of suggestions of attractions which we could visit come rain or shine.
Bedrooms
The house has three guest suites: The Macgregor, The Buchanan and The Macfarlane Suite. All rooms are en suite with a bath and seperate walk in shower. A hospitality tray wth tea & coffee making facilities, TV, DVD, Clock / Radio, Iron & Ironing Board Station were all available.
* The Macgregor - whilst I did not see this room I believe that it was a double bedroom with a seperate sitting room. The suite has views facing south over Loch Lomond.
* The Buchanan - I stayed in this room myself. This suite was double bedroom with King Size ...
