Advantages: Low price. All in one.Reliable.Quiet. Disadvantages: Slow. No separate fax.
...2. An equally aged Lexmark Z31 printer, that was very noisy and no good for photo reproduction. Also involved was the exchange of the standard colour cartridge to a photo cartridge anytime photo quality prints were needed.
3. Little available space for separate printer and scanner.
4. No stand alone copier hence the need to go through the PC for all copying and printing requirements. A real bug bear at times!
5. Any reduction or enlargement needed ... ...Samsung, BT, HP, Cano and Lexmark in particular but do not aim to produce an opinion comparing all the features, fact and figures from them so I`ll just cut to the chase and tell you about the one that I plumped for - the Lexmark X85. I also have an aversion to opinions that are padded out with technical specifications so if you want those I suggest you go to a retailers website where you will find enough to sink a boat. Advantages: Save space, easy to use, good quality printing Disadvantages: Expensive ink, TALKING SOFTWARE!!
...never been a fan of Lexmark printers, due to the prohibitive cost of their replacement ink tanks. In fact the only reason that I even own a Lexmark is due to the fact that I won it, and just using this all in one has changed my perspective quite radically.
In the box is the actual unit, a power cord, colour and black inktanks, instruction manual, CD-Roms containing the drivers and some applications, and a large sheet of paper with installation instruction.
... ...All in all the Lexmark X85 is a good all in one solution, that is let down by two things.

Expensive cartridges. To replace the ink tanks will cost nearly £50, which is incredibly expensive when you see that a brand new X85 will cost you £69.99 from PC World. I know that you can buy 'remanufactured' cartridges or re-fill them but using either method voids any form of manufacturer warranty, so is a little pointless ...
