The lodging scene in town is very good - there are number of high quality hotels and scores of homely, comfortable, bed and breakfast places. Options for dining out in York are extensive. Aside from old English tearooms, city centre pubs and fish and chip shops, there are plenty of sophisticated restaurants. Ethnic cuisines are well represented.

Advantages: Great views, lovely rooms and close to Blackpool Sands Disadvantages: Out of Dartmouth, but great for a quieter stay
...We arrived at Stoke Fleming nr dartmouth for a weekend away.
The Stoke Lodgehotel is a lovely hotel situated in a small village called Stoke Fleming which is on the way towards Blackpool sands.
The hotel is very relaxed with very pleasant rooms and a great view. There is a large chess set on the lawn, gardens to wander and also a games room downstairs, away from all the guests.
We ventured out on the saturday night for a meal at the Green Dragon pub which serves excellent crab sandwiches in the day but a beautifully coked meal in the evening. Afterwards we strolled back to Stoke Lodge where we went downstairs and played pool whilst enjoygin drinks from the bar.
Over all a very enjoyable weekend which was enhanced by the great accomodation in a lovely village....
