1902-1914. This work deals with the topographical surveys and records of localities in the south of the island, as well as the finds from the Boukopian sanctuary in Lindos until Roman times.

Advantages: Beautiful and Idylic Disadvantages: Too many tourist shops and some steep walking.

Unless you are actually staying in Lindos your first approach will from the top of the surrounding hills, so you will be greeted by the spectacular view; The ancient Acropolis set at the highest point of the town overlooking the sea, the crecent of sand and clear sparkling waters of St Pauls bay, and the tightly packed traditional greek white houses, shops and Villas; accented with the odd Italian style villa left over from the 1930's when Rhodes was an Italian governed island. As you proceed downhill toward the town square you can either turn left toward the beach or continue straight on through the maze of vine covered narrow streets and the vast array of small local stores, where you can purchase everything from an engagement ring to traditional Greek lace dresses. Another thing that Lindos is not short of is the most wonderful Tavernas, cafes, and no trip to Lindos would be complete without a visit to a crepe bar for a chocolate and banana crepe and sweet frappe coffee. The Acropolis of Rhodes is a bit of a steep walk and takes about 20 - 30 minutes, but most of it is with no shade and the higher you get the hotter it gets. Make sure you take your own water because the drinks kiosk outside the entrance to the Acropolis is probably the only rip-off you will come across on the whole of the island. You may opt to take a Lindos taxi, ( a donkey in other words), but some of you may ( as i did) object to the treatment of the animals. As much as they say it looks harsher than it relly is, i'd rather get confirmation of that from one of the donkeys. All in all no trip to Rhodes will be complete without a visit to this truly beautiful little town.
Advantages: services, food Disadvantages: I canot find
I was in this hotel from Last minute , everything as described, very happy with this choice! In my opinion this is right hotel for families with children (they can arrange baby sitting, one other thing that gets our thumbs up was the fantastic Kids Club). It was hotel run and the staff were absolutely brilliant. They had the kids baking biscuits, cooking taramasalata, they had treasure hunts on the beach, disco nights). Lindos Royal Village is very popular hotel for summer vacation up to now - the d'ont have negative opinions, check more hotels from Lindos http://www.fostertravel.pl/hotele/grecja/rodos/okolica-lindos/lindos,m or hotels from Rhodes http://www.fostertravel.pl/hotele/grecja/rodos,r. The complex has a number of restaurants including an a la carte restaurant. We ate several times at the restaurants but preferred to either ...
Advantages: All inclusive Disadvantages: Not so good air condition system
I was in Lindos Royal Village (http://www.iberostar.com/EN/Rhodes-hotels/Iberostar-Lindos-Royal-Village3125.html) the last week of July 2007; I was there with the italian tour operator Liotti Viaggi (http://www.liottiviaggi.com/).
I enjoyed the experience, particular mention to the gently staff, to the rich buffets with a large variety of international specialities, to the three swimming pools (1.80 cm, 1.45 cm and 30 cm high) and beautiful sea with pebbles beach.
A bit disappointed for air condition system in my room, too old and not powerful enough to refresh as needed.
Not to be confused with the very close Lindos Village (http://www.veratour.it/it/la-tua-vacanza/villaggi/15veraclublindos/index.php?sid=a7664dbd8f06b1eb54e1664739c71524) a Veratour italian village. ...
Advantages: gorgeous weatherand beach, fun packed lively night life! Disadvantages: Not really suited to familys or the elderly.
Falaraki is definately the place be this year. Its crammed with late night bars, and clubs that stay open till the early hours of the morning. Two for one offers on drinks make it a cheap holiday if your willing to start your night off that little bit earlier in order to get pissed for half the price. Aswell as the night life theres loads more to do, including; Bungi jumping, bungi cage, sky surfer, go-karting, banana boats, ringos and a water park 10 minutes down the road.If your into venturing out, Falaraki is slap bang in between Lindos and Rhodes town. where as Lindos seem to be the place to just chill-out and relax, Rhodes town is the place to do a bit of site seeing and see the more traditional side of Greece. Rhodes town is a great night out if you just fancy a walk around the town and a great meal. Both of theses places including ...
