Advantages: Beautiful and Idylic Disadvantages: Too many tourist shops and some steep walking.
Unless you are actually staying in Lindos your first approach will from the top of the surrounding hills, so you will be greeted by the spectacular view; The ancient Acropolis set at the highest point of the town overlooking the sea, the crecent of sand and clear sparkling waters of St Pauls bay, and the tightly packed traditional greek white houses, shops and Villas; accented with the odd Italian style villa left over from the 1930's when Rhodes ... ...the town square you can either turn left toward the beach or continue straight on through the maze of vine covered narrow streets and the vast array of small local stores, where you can purchase everything from an engagement ring to traditional Greek lace dresses.
Another thing that Lindos is not short of is the most wonderful Tavernas, cafes, and no trip to Lindos would be complete without a visit to a crepe bar for a chocolate and banana crepe ...

Advantages: beautiful island; excellent food and drink Disadvantages: travel times weren't great
...Recently returned from a week long break in Rhodes staying at the Atlantica Beach Hotel in Kolymbia. It is an all-inclusive hotel costing £460 per person for a week at the end of September. For anyone who hasn't been to Rhodes are is looking for an all-inclusive break, I would recommend this without hesitation. The foos is fantastic and you can eat as much as you like. The drink flows until you can have no more and it covers everything including soft drinks, wine, beer and cocktails. Service is brilliant and it is set in a stunning part of the island. The beach is only 200m away and it is a beautiful sand and stone beach. The weather was hot and sunny every day and a tan is easy to get. Did a day trip to Rhodes and Lindos. Lindos is lovely but wouldn't spend more than an hour there. Not a lot to do. Rhodes Town is stunning and would...

Advantages: gorgeous weatherand beach, fun packed lively night life! Disadvantages: Not really suited to familys or the elderly.
...Falaraki is definately the place be this year. Its crammed with late night bars, and clubs that stay open till the early hours of the morning. Two for one offers on drinks make it a cheap holiday if your willing to start your night off that little bit earlier in order to get pissed for half the price. Aswell as the night life theres loads more to do, including; Bungi jumping, bungi cage, sky surfer, go-karting, banana boats, ringos and a water park 10 minutes down the road.If your into venturing out, Falaraki is slap bang in between Lindos and Rhodes town. where as Lindos seem to be the place to just chill-out and relax, Rhodes town is the place to do a bit of site seeing and see the more traditional side of Greece. Rhodes town is a great night out if you just fancy a walk around the town and a great meal. Both of theses places including...

Advantages: Locals, food, scenery, Value, Disadvantages: A couple of tacky resorts
....50 Euros inc fry up, toast, juice, coffee and an apricot half- that sets you up! Evening meals (for 3) 20-35 Euros including some drinks and a pint of Mythos at Cocktails & Dreams 1.5 Euro’s!
Getting out and about was a tad tricky with only 1 bus per day from the square to Lindos and Rhodes town. More frequent busses were on the main Rhodes Town to Lindos road but that’s a bit of a hike! Taxis are called from Lindos but be aware that they charge an extra 5 Euros to collect you. My tip would be hire a car. We got an air-conditioned Corsa from Simon at Haraki Cars for 25 Euros a day for a week. We loved Rhodes Town and Lindos, Monolithos (castle on a rock) and Epta Piages (crystal springs). 2 country villages of note are Lardos (by the way go to the Ooopa! Taverna there one night- by far the best meal all holiday and Greek dancing too...
