On my third holiday to Greece we decided to go to Rhodes. I decided on Rhodes because of the history of the island. Rhodes is a beautiful country with many places to visit. The beaches are sandy and plentiful and the locals are friendly and helpful. Rhodes Town is large and to see it all you will need a couple of days wandering around all of the narrow streets. The palace of the knights in Rhodes Town is great and the harbour is amazing to imagine the Colossus standing accross. Other places in Rhodes to visit is the small island off the southern end of Rhodes. This can be got to by wadding through waistheight warm water, and is tremdous fun. Another place to go is the valley of the butterflies (which should really be seen during July when the butterflies are actually there) if not July it is a lovely walk. Kalithea and Seven Springs are two other places of interest that are great fun for the tourist who wants to see more than just the beach. Lastly and by no means least the town of Lindos and the Acropolis are amazing. A definate Greek island to visit.
