Lindos is excellent, we stayed in the Lindos Memories just outside of the town, Lindos town was a short Taxi ride away only a couple of Euro's. Lindos is a very old town, very hilly with narrow winding streets, with the Acropolis at the top of the cliff. We actually had our best holiday ever in Lindos.
The weather was extremely hot as it is in the south of the Island, and it can be very windy. Be very careful during the day as you can burn very easily and bring plenty of cool clothes as it wasn't much cooler on a night. Try and stay in a Hotel with Air conditioning if possible, you'll need it.
We spent many a pleasent evening wandering around the narrow streets, looking for somewhere to eat. There are many restaurants in Lindos Most have roof Terraces with views across the bay and up to the Acropolis. Our favourite reastaurant was a Mexican restaurant in Lindos itself, excellent Traditional Mexican food.
During the day Lindos town is flooded with coach loads of visitors on day trips to see the Acropolis, so I would recommend that you visit the Acropolis 1st thing on a morning before the coaches arrive, and save wondering round the streets until late afternoon/evening when all the coaches have left.
Further along the coast past Lindos Pefkos, which is a very family orginated commercial town. Further along the coast past Pefkos is Lardos a much smaller town, very good if you want to have a cheap, quiet and much more Traditional meal. There aren't many Restaurants to choose from, but you'll find the prices a lot cheaper than in Lindos.
Our Hotel was the Lindos memories which was half way between Lindos and Pefkos. The hotel was lovely and we stayed on a B&B basis. Breakfast was wonderfull, it was a buffet of Traditional cooked food, Fruit, Cold meats, breads, Cearals and Juices. Infact there is nothing that you could want for breakfast that they didn't have. My favourite item for Breakfast was freshly cooked pancakes with Greek Honey, yum yum.
The Hotel was quite small about 50 rooms I think, had a small pool, gym, pool bar and private beach. The rooms were lovely. The location is very quite, and is probably more for couples and people wanting a quiet time.
All in all an excellent Holiday and that I would recommend to anyone. The people are lovely, the food is great and the weather is hot. In fact we are thinking of going back again next year.

We went to Zante last year, going to Corfu this year could contemplate Rhodes next year as you recommend it. Jane x

Oh, the memories you've brought back! I visited Lindos for the day on a school cruise about 20 years ago, and loved it! I remember vividly the lovely mosaics in the streets and the stunning view down to St Paul's Bay (I think it was called) from the Acropolis. The amazing blue of the sea in that little crescent-shaped bay will live with me forever! Otherwise, a very nice op too! Andy.
