The Colombo Centre, Lisbon's Trafford Centre
Review of Colombo Shopping Centre (Lisbon) by Shekera

Advantages: Very clean and plenty of variety.
Disadvantages: Approximately 15 minutes outside the City Centre.

The Colombo Shopping Centre is located on the Avenida General Norton de Matos, Benfica, Lisbon. It is accessible by both metro and bus, and just a short taxi ride from Lisbon’s city centre. Opened in 1997, the Colombo Centre is Lisbon's newest mall, being the largest in the Iberian Peninsula. As well as a shopping centre, it also houses a leisure complex, with a multiplex cinema, health club, driving range, and bowling alley to name a few. ...
...can also obtain oriental and European cuisine. Those just looking for a cup of coffee and a pastry or sandwich, are also well catered for. For anyone visiting Lisbon, I would highly recommend taking the short taxi drive out to the Colombo Shopping Centre, even just for a browse. ... Read review

For football lovers! Great Stadium!
Review of Estadio da Luz (SL Benfica Stadium) by R_A_C

Advantages: The tour is amazing!
Disadvantages: not having a ball while in the pitch...

The "Estádio da Luz" it's the home stadium of the Portuguese football giants SL Benfica. Opened in October 25th 2003, this stadium is the result of a troubled period in the club's life. It's construction involved many argues and debate, since it implicated the demolition of the old mythic stadium with the same name, where different generations of Benfica supporters lived unforgettable moments among crowds up to 120,000 people! The ground where the ...
...and for many Benfica fans this stadium is the modern reincarnation of the old one. With 65,000 covered seats, this facility offers to the football fans enormous comfort with plenty of leisure places. Estádio da Luz has all that it takes to host finals of UEFA's club competitions. Two giant screens, 156 company boxes, 55 bars, two panoramic restaurants, a business centre, a company centre, two health clubs, special areas for the disabled, and a VIP ... Read review

Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre
Review of Vasco da Gama Centre (Lisbon) by Bestway

Advantages: Underground (metro) station inside, buses, taxis, trains, etc.
Disadvantages: None (too much people on weekends).

This shopping centre located in the ex-EXPO'98 area, is a beautiful place to shop, to lunch or just walk. They have the best shops in town, one of the top restaurants in Lisbon and in general very nice streets and views outside. It is a very modern building, near by the river and other interesting places to visit as Oceanarum, Bowling, outside restaurants - some located in boats in the river. The fast food sector offers an extraordinary diversity, ... Read review

Cascais Shopping...better go to Lisboa!
Review of Cascais Shopping by scala333

Advantages: Handy for Cascais
Disadvantages: Not pushchair friendly, limited choice

The big brother to Cascais centre's Cascais Villa, this shopping centre is located about 15 min. to the North of the town centre - expect to pay about 6 euro if you're taking a taxi from the station. It's got a reasonable range of stores, with a large Continente supermarket , FNAC, Zara & Zara Home, Area, Toys R Us and various clothes / gifts / homeware shops, plus restaurants,on site. However, parents of babies & toddlers be warned : it's quite ...
...have to negotiate loads of steps to cross the main road. I would recommend a trip to one of the central Lisbon malls if you really want to shop 'til you drop - Cascais Shopping is too limited in range and frustrating to get around to win my vote. ... Read review

Fishy activities in Lisbon
Review of Oceanarium by koshkha

Advantages: Fantastic fish, birds, otters, great layout, novel approach
Disadvantages: Absolutely none - except adults can't do sleepovers

...at Ellesmere Port. The Oceanarium in Lisbon has been on my must-see list for years. When my Portuguese friend Theresa told me there were plans to build a mega-aquarium for the 1998 World Expo, we vowed that I would visit Lisbon and we would go see the fishies. Of course, life moved on and I forgot all about it until last Friday. Like a good ciaoster with her passport in her pocket I checked out what there was to see in Lisbon and was reminded about ...
...locals taking the sun. The Oceanarium is set amongst acres of picnicking families and kids playing in the park. To one side the cable car whizzes along the waterfront. You can get the metro out to the park - there's lots of transport infrastructure put in place for the Expo. You have no excuse not to go. The Oceanarium was of major symbolic importance for the Expo. Lisbon's history and glory is closely associated with the sea and the Oceanarium ... Read review
