A sore point for Lithuania
Advantages: Very interesting Disadvantages: Museum development still in progress
...everyone knew this was the KGB HQ, it was not known that people were held in detention here and even tortured. They get a steady trickle of former inmates coming back, and telling them what went on. We were shown the room with bullet holes in the walls, where people were shot dead. So I guess there are not so many to tell the tale.
The guide, although a young man in his 20s who had not lived through much Soviet time in Lithuania, was knowledgeable, ... ...open up so much of ths history of the place through his enthusiasm for communicating his subject.
There were a lot of middle-aged Americans in our party and they seemed shocked and horrified by the place. This seemed rather odd to me as a Brit. I'm middle aged, and I think we in the UK had known all this was going on in Soviet times...I was surprised that Americans didn't too...
All what going on?? Well, there were tiny 'reception cells' where ...

Considering the history of the 30000 tons building, it was finished on the 31st of January 1981, and the symbol it became after the horrific night when fighting with Soviet troops, as they were ordered to leave the country, but came in tanks armoured with guns to crush the circle of hundreds of empty handed people from the whole ...

Visit for great events
Advantages: A very nice sea town with golden sand coast Disadvantages: not too much to do in winter as its a coast town
Place:
This is a seashore town, with plenty of restaurants and attractions to spend some quality time with your partner.
Best time to go:
Summer would be the best time to go. To be more exact from the dates to come are between 20th of July until 01 of August. Winter would be such a great time as you would miss out on the main attractions of the city.
Things to do:
If you would come on the recommended date you could be apart of the great "Sea ... ...would be a lot of attractions like bungee jumping and amusement park. It would also be great time to buy souvenirs as all the retailers from come from all corners of Lithuania therefore you would see the most of the country. There's also a very attractive beach with almost no rubbish, golden sand beaches and blue clear water (compared to England's seas the water is very clear and not so salty). There's also a lots of dance clubs with very beautiful ...
