Advantages: Location is fairly central, staff are attentive to requests Disadvantages: No restaurant, basic room facilities, housekeeping could be improved
...Hotel Comedie is a three star property in Geneve's City Centre, on the busy Rue de Carouge. It was business, rather than pleasure that took me there for my recent one month stay.
The actual purpose of my trip was also hotel related, in that I was working with a project team on a system roll out for one of the most luxurious brands in the world. Unfortunately, at the time of my arrival they did not have a hotel in Geneve City..and they always book this place for visitors, as it is convenient to the office.
The website gives away very little too, in fact it is nothing more than their name and address on a page, suffice it to say I was mildly alarmed at that, but my manager in Geneve had told me on the telephone said he had stayed here for a few weeks and it was ok.
Arriving at the hotel by taxi is actually a challenge in itself...

...of international organizations, etc.) eating in Geneva is relatively cheap and a little bit cheaper than London. Though McDonalds are more expensive, a Big Mac meal will cost you £5 whereas in England I will cost you about £3. You also don't find any greasy spoons and kebab shops.
The best restaurants in Geneva are in the old town, they tend to be the more genuine one. The ones in the new town are mainly big pizza chains. Restaurants in the old and new town let you sit out which is nice, especially as there not situated on roads. Most restaurants in the Old town offer a mixture of Swiss and French food, whereas those in the New town are Italian and American influenced.

Advantages: Lots to do, nice atmosphere Disadvantages: Hotels are rather expensive
...My husband & I visited Geneva last month & loved it. It's just such a big city with so much to do. We went to the Reformation museum & Red Cross museum, but there are also art museums, a watch museum and others. Cathedral is worth a visit- we went to a concert in it which was a great experience. Also visited some sights to do with Jean Calvin the Christian reformer - such as the Reformation Wall. Went on a cruise on Lake Geneva which was lovely. Make sure you take a swimming cossie too cos at "Geneve Plage" there are outdoor pools and a section of the lake that you can swim in if you want. The tram is a good way to get around the city. A little further out are the alps which you can visit by coach.
Hotels & restaurants can tend to be a bit pricey, but we stayed in "Hotel Central" which is reasonably priced and a nice hotel.
