M53 Highway to Heaven

Advantages: Good brands at more affordable prices
Disadvantages: Can be a little busy

...I have been going to Cheshire oaks, once know only to me as the 'designer village'. I remember when it was only one square of shops! Now it has expanded into four squares of fabulous shop after shop. Cheshire oaks is an outlet village but most of the items are first rate. Over the years it has attracted big names like Ralph Lauren, Ted Baker, Gap and Warehouse. It even recently acquired a Mulberry bag shop! And everything is cheaper than the high ...
...also buses that run into Cheshire oaks from surrounding local areas. You can take the train in or it may be possible to bike in but the surrounding roads are rather busy and i wouldn't recommend it! "Location" Their website provides all directions: We're conveniently located just off Junction 10 of the M53 motorway, in Chester, with first class road and rail links. Find us via SAT Nav by simply inserting CH65 9JJ ...

The 'Mane' Attraction or just Monkey Business?

Advantages: A fun, educational day out and lovely animals
Disadvantages: Bad smelling cafe, questionable toilet safety and animals being put away too early : (

...to Chester, we headed to Knowsley Safari Park, a land that promised rhinos darting everywhere, baboons climbing all over the roof of your car, throwing rotting food at the windscreen and camels who act as window cleaners. Oh joy. Throughout the brochures green and yellow pages, Knowsley promises quite a unique experience with the ‘baboon jungle’ being the only one of its kind in the country, an amusement park and birds of prey display...not directly ...
...to be essential viewing. However, Knowsley boasted about their wild cats and mammals well enough to convince me that it was going to be worth the visit, and an enjoyable one at that. IN BRIEF... Founded in July 1971, Knowsley Safari Park was the first of its kind to be built just eight miles away from a big city and the big city in question was Liverpool. For the first two years, the park had only 3.5 miles worth of road for the visitors to travel ...

Odeon - Liverpool's Number One

Advantages: Good sized screens, great auditoriums, caters for everyone,
Disadvantages: Popcorn sometimes cardboardy, expensive chocolate treats,

...has meant putting up with Odeon Birmingham. Needless to say, I was very happy to discover the brand spanking new Odeon in Liverpool One, Odeon Liverpool One Odeon is actually the largest cinema chain in the UK, created by Oscar Deutsch in 1928. Some say that the name comes from Ancient Greek, others say that it comes from the motto Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation. There are currently... a lot of Odeon cinemas ...
...was redeveloped, the city centre Odeon branch was relocated here. The entrance can be found on Paradise Street, on the upper level of the Liverpool ONE shopping complex, conveniently surrounded by no less than 5 eating establishments, should you feel peckish before or after your film. It's obviously very central - about a 15 minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street and about 5-10 minutes from Liverpool Central on foot. The entrance is large, which ...

St johns precinct

Advantages: well designed
Disadvantages: cant smoke in there any more

...design and whole atmosphere of st johns shopping centre it has an original shopping mall design which is hard to find these days, (built proply out of wood tiles and glass mirrors) not cheap white plastic and the whole building virtually made out of glass, that bright inside that it hurts your eyes, No its actually very relaxed especially the food court all original wood design with glass windows on first floor. Anyone that says it needs doing up ...
...everything being so called modern looking?(cheap material, made in taiwan style) and i can honestly say you can actually shop in st johns without worring wot your spending (unlike metquarter 150 pounds for a t-shirt) well just like to say well done to managers and designers of ST JOHNS PRECINCT ...

Not just a Ferry cross the Mersey

Advantages: great views, educational
Disadvantages: not good in bad weather

Where:-- River Mersey - There are 3 Ferry terminals in operation today, these are located in Seacombe, Birkenhead Woodside (these are both on the Wirral side or the River) and the Pier Head (Liverpool side of the River), However, at present the Pier head is not operational and the ferries are operating out of a temporary landing stage located at the Princes Dock. This is unfortunately due to the fact that earlier in 2006 a extremely high tide and ...
...issue asap. What do Mersey ferries have to offer:- Peak times - rush hour - There is a shuttle service for comuters which operates every half hour. In the morning there is complmentary coffee avaialble to all commuters and it is actually very good coffee, handy in the winter months when its a bit cold really warms you up. River Explorer cruise - there are 2 routes that are operated, one for summer and one for the winter season. Each cruise lasts ...
