supporting newty and a little bit of history
Advantages: enjoy the place Disadvantages: be careful
...another of those exiled from Liverpool I agree with the sentiments of the article. Unfortunately, lots of fellow Scousers leave and don't go back except to visit. Why? Well Liverepool is great to visit and live, certainly it gives you a great grounding in life if you are brought up there. However, the seafairing culture gives those who are able an instant escape route. The cosmopolitan nature of the city is such that people can easily move on. They ... ...hard knocks. In essence Liverpool is a melting pot and spews out entertainers, sports people and all manner of artisans onto an unsuspecting world.
Part of the culture of Liverpool is one of conflict especially against authority. It's the only place in the UK where the Police have been on strike circa 1919. It presents a very individual social pecking order which for most people is a certain kind of social pravado which is seen by outsiders as that ...

Liverpool shines
Advantages: Lively, relaxing and lots to do. Disadvantages: Some parts still need a makeover
Liverpool is a lively and happening city and now that it has won the right to be called European city of culture things are really looking onup for a city often overshadowed by Northern neighbours Manchester. I spent a week in liverpool and had a relaxing time.
Current works are going on in order to get the city just right for 2008 when it opens its doors as the city of culture with big events and showcases.
Highlights of the city inculde the famous ... ...relaxing sitting by having a bite to eat and watching time fly by.The Beatles shop is must for fans of Paul, john, ringo and george and great to catch the old tunes. The Anglican and catholic catherdrals are worth a visit as well as the trendy shops and Liverpool and Everton football clubs. ...

Capital of Culture 2008
Advantages: Cultural - steeped in history & heritage Disadvantages: Lack of investment
LIVERPOOL - European Capital of Culture 2008
This is the first in what will be a series of city reviews, when I get around writing the others that is !!
I could quite easily go on about my home city all day long..... A city, which for reasons beyond it's own control, has received a very bad press for far too long. I have lived and worked away from the city now for over 10 years, and can say with absolute certainty that there are many worse places ... ...2 Cathedrals, 2 Universities
Liverpool .... I love the place, I love the people (well, most of them anyway), I love the fresh sea air, the humour, the art, the football, the heritage, the history, the music, the culture ... It's got it all, but unfortunately suffered a massive industrial decline in the 80's, leading to mass unemployment and large scale economic and social decay, from which the city has only - in the last 3-4 years - really started ...

Liverpool -The Place To Be
Advantages: Good Shopping, Good friendly atmosphere, lots of culture Disadvantages: I really can't think of any!....
...is my fourth year in Liverpool now as a student and have another three to look forward to!
From the moment I arrived I loved all aspects of the city. The first thing that struck me was how big the city centre was having nearly every shop you could imagine and more (compared to my home town with one main street!) There is always such a vibrant atmosphere of people rushing around whether it’s a Saturday or a Monday.
The nightlife is amazing with ... ...restaurants and takeaways.
As Liverpool has been voted Capital of Culture in 2008 it would be a shame to miss out on the sights of the city. There are many museums, The Beatle’s Story exhibition and the Magical Mystery Tour which takes you round the Beatles former homes, schools etc…really not to missed.
Getting to the city is very easy with the majority of major transport routes taking you right into the heart of the city. By rail, you will come ...
