Liverpool Lovelies Trilogy ... Part 2 Advantages: Loads of room to park our bottoms, jacuzzi, freebies and a huge bed! Disadvantages: Having to knock on the door like an old strumpet at 5am, paying for parking my car, cheek!! ...only for the night, The Holiday Inn Liverpool City Center. It was close to everything, in fact right on the doorstep of the clubs and bars, handy for late night stumbling, but one problem, the only room available was The Presidential Suite!! Jules being the die hard bargain hunter she is asked what we would get for our £175.00, we were told it included breakfast and we had a spa bath in our room. Jules' ears pricked up immediately, "A Jacuzzi?, We'll ... ...decorated and very clean as Holiday Inn's usually are. The standard double room would actually cost you £130.00 for the night, so remember for an extra £45 you can have the Presidential Suite, could you resist that? I know I wouldn't. This Particular hotel has 139 bedrooms in total and 7 meeting rooms. They also have a Health club on one floor, something we weren't going to be venturing into for certain, but nice to know eh? Another amazing hotel in liverpool on the docks. Advantages: views/price Disadvantages: none I stayed in the hotel a couple of weeks ago and was very very pleased with my whole experience. when we arrived we got a great quick and easy welcome by the staff and where given directions to our room. in the lift we went up to the 3rd floor we stepped out of thr lift and the space in the hallways was huge and was very clean and very modern. we found our room easily and we opened the door to find the most amazing view out of our window. Don't stay here Advantages: Central location Disadvantages: Where do I start?? ...but this won't happen while Britannia are in charge. I have stayed at one of their Manchester hotels and have to say, it was every bit as disappointing and dirty as the Adelphi. UPDATE Just to let you know, The Adelphi has featured in the local press very heavily throughout the last couple of weeks of July. Apparently, over 80% of all hotel thefts in Liverpool take place in The Adelphi! The Tourist Board is threatening to kick them out unless ... ...in my opinion). There are interviews with ex staff members who claim skeleton keys are sold to would-be burglars for as little as £5 but that despite this, the locks have not been changed for many years. ... Crowne Plaza deserves another Crown Advantages: 4 Star hotel, Situated in good location, Friendly staff, Beautiful hotel, Good hotel facilities Disadvantages: Expensive ...However the bathrooms in the Crowne Plaza are perfect they just look beautiful and posh. I had enough space to stand around; I had space to put my clothes and enough room to shave without banging into the mirror I guess you can get my point. Bed and breakfast As part of the deal that I got was evening meal and breakfast included with the rooms (We had to pay for drinks) but it was a very good deal. Overall The Crowne Plaza is a lovely hotel situated perfectly by the waterfront in Liverpool I was surprised that the hotel is only a 4 star hotel but was very impressed. The rooms are gorgeous, the staff are helpful and I really enjoyed my stay. Classy Liverpool Marriott Advantages: Central, clean, helpful staff, good facilities Disadvantages: Price of food! ...my girlfriend stayed in the Marriott for one night back in March 2007. The reception area in the Marriott is very nice and extremely clean. When checking in the receptionist was very friendly, offering us extra services and any help/advice we needed for our stay. The conceirge was also very polite, helping us in the lift and offering us help with our bags. The actual room was great, a lovely view looking onto some of Liverpool's historic buildings ... ...clean and the bathroom was also very nice. We had a meal in the hotel and although the service was second to none, and the meal was beautiful, the pricing was extremely high. We would not eat in the hotel if we stayed again as there are many lovely restaurants close by the hotel offering much greater value. The meal cost us £60 for two and we only had one bottle of wine (a little bit too expensive for us, maybe others would disagree).
