Just back from a night at the Liverpool MH, i need to tell you the good and the bad ! As far as acomoadation goes it was great - 2 double beds in a room overlooking the BBC and steet. Noise and lighting no proble. Nice and very welcome temperature control in the room. Great location close to the Albert Dock for an evening walk and window shop. Nice well furnished bice communal areas around reception. Sadly I cant give anything other than the thumbs down to the food. We sdtayed in a company do and so were charged £17.00 for a set ( and I mean set - even vegetarians had a choice of 1 dish) menu that was poor - I would feel cheated if I had paid £5. The chicken was covered in a bland white sauce. The vegetables were the same as had ben served up at lunchtime and the vegetarian option of noodles were so unappetising that everyone left 75 % of them. The satff were not very interested in whether the food was of quality - they just served it. The pudding was a frozen choclate gateau and we had one cup of coffee with no other of a refill. I know eating in hotels is to be avoided but really this was rubbish . The gym facilites were ok - if you can forget the small gym made to look bigger by mirrors - no modern equipment such as cross trainers just the basic treadmill and bikes. The pool was ok - but felt like swimming in a tank because the water level was so far below the sides. Sauna and steam room ok though. Stay at the hotel for a weekend break - the breakfast is ok - toast at the table plus an ok but not great selection of cereals and cooked breakfast - but dont eat in - its over priced, poorly cooked and poorly presented.Eat out and you will be ok. Disabled access to recption areas and restaurant ok but forget about the pool and gym.
