Genuine Chinese Cuisine
Review of Tai Pan Restaurant by vl2004

Advantages: good food
Disadvantages: no non-smoking area, lack of intimate atmosphere

Liverpool’s Tai Pan Chinese restaurant is situated in an unprepossessing location a couple of miles north of the city centre. It’s in a vast warehouse of a building, with the restaurant on the first floor, and the W.H.Lung Chinese supermarket underneath. Don’t be put off. This is a very good restaurant. Just look at the clientele on any Sunday lunchtime: 95% Chinese. And it’s listed in the Good Food Guide. It serves authentic Cantonese food. Most ...
...There is disabled access both to the restaurant and the toilets. And there’s secure parking for 200 cars within the compound, which is patrolled. Review of Meet Argentinian Restaurant, Liverpool by Julieshobs

Advantages: Fabulous food
Disadvantages: No way could you eat 3 courses

...did I pick Meet? Meet is a restaurant I have heard rave reviews about since the day it opened but have never got round to actually going their myself until last weekend. I have also been reading reviews around the net and so far have only come across one bad comment out of a good few which is always a good sign. Arriving at the restaurant, hubby still a bit sceptical about where I was taking him, the entrance is up a few stairs but even here you ...

Out On The Raz!!!
Review of Blue Angel by e_coleuk

Advantages: Unforgettable experience... you need to go at least once!
Disadvantages: The smell, the sticky floor, the sweat dripping from the ceiling!!!

...just stumbled drunkenly into the Blue Angel, 108 Seel Street, Liverpool. More commonly (and fondly) known as "The Raz", this is the best place for cheesy music, cheap drinks, to soak up the atmosphere, and dance the night away. And what an atmosphere it is! I would probably call it 'Miasma'. I've heard it said that you can't walk into "The Raz" sober as the wave of foul stench hits you on the stairs down into the bat-cave, and you can only bear ...
...her "I'm at the famous Blue Angel." Inside it was completely deserted. There was just me, my now ex and the bar attendants. We went downstairs to half-dimmed lights. It wasn't a grotty bat-cave. My first experience of it was like 'The Cavern', the old nightclub where the Beatles performed, while my ex was drunk and fell down the stairs, but I'm not going to mention that again. "Do you like the Beatles?" said the bar-guy heading over to the DJ decks. ... Read review

la tasca kingston
Review of La Tasca Restaurants by truedon

Advantages: good food
Disadvantages: slow service

Food is fab perfect setting on the river and there are tables outside if you can get one. Good wine list and of course the traditional Sangria. It is very busy so service is slow be prepared to be in there for a while. We deceied to skip desert for that reason. Atmosphere is ok they have candles, can be a bit noisey for a romantic night but great if you are a group. The Tapas has lots of choices and I would recomend around 4 dishes per person as ...
...did!! Prices for the Tapas start around £3.50 and go up to around £5.25 per dish. The wine as in most places starts around £12 a bottle as is the Sangria. I would recomend for a good night out. There is not much parking near by so either get a cab or catch a bus into the town centre and walk through. You can Park in the main town. ... Read review
