A Red Hot Experience!

Advantages: Great style and fantastic food
Disadvantages: Not enough room, toilets need to be maintained more regularly

Red Hot Buffet Shack, Liverpool How To Get There... This branch of RHB is located in Liverpool One, a modern and stylish setting with plenty of retail and food to enjoy. If you go up the escalators, walk forwards and past the Odeon cinema entrance (which should be on your right), out of the doors and onto the terrace, RHB is on your left hand side, about 4 restaurants down. If you're having trouble, there are plenty of staff and maps ...
...restaurant is rather well hidden away, it's behind about 4 other restaurants and I couldn't see it at first. My friend assured me it was there, though, and after a minute of walking we were outside. From outside, the restaurant is dimly lit and very stylish. With large glass windows and doors, and the 'Red Hot Buffet' logo branded above. Once inside... There is a small seating area and a reception desk. There was nobody on reception as I ...

Is Jacques Bistro just brilliant?

Advantages: Fantastic food and great menu
Disadvantages: None

...the show and decided that Bistro Jacques would be the place. Bistro Jacques is a French restaurant which is situated on Hardman Street in Liverpool right in the heart of theatre land and some of our party had been there before and it came highly recommended. Arriving at the Bistro you may feel disappointed at the external appearance of the building, it looks like a couple of shops have been refurbished and knocked together to form the restaurant ...
...really adds to the French Bistro feel. The floor is also wooden but not so polished that you would slip on shoes with no grip on them. We had an early booking for our meal, 5 pm as we where off the theatre that evening, having such an early booking we could take advantage of the Theatre menu that is available at a set price of £10.95 per person. For this you get a three course meal with a good choice available for each course. For our visit we had ...

Great staff, shame about the food.

Advantages: Great staff & service.
Disadvantages: Food not great.

I visited Meet on a group night out. Although we were a large group we greeted immediately, and seated. Drink order was taken quickly , efficiently and arrived quickly. We had pre-ordered food beforehand so the food arrived very quickly. For starter I had ordered a mozzarella, tomato & Basil pastie. When it arrived it looked great however after slicing into the pastie I struggled to find any filling. I peeled the top off the pastie off and there ...
...mozzarella. The rest was all pastry. If your a big pastry fan fine, but if you want something to taste don't go for this dish. On the plus side the salad that came with it was lovely. Other group members that had the same starter agreed. For main I had ordered portobello & tomato lasagne. When it arrived it looked a mess, it was covered with what looked like processed cheese sauce. I tried to find the vegetables & pasta but these were lacking. About ...

COFFEE UNION - NO WONDER THE UNIONS ARE FAILING

Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: FOOD, COFFEE SERVICE

...I am forced to use Coffee Union at Princes Parade. I guess that the previous writer was one of the lucky ones. Being a creature of habit I tend to opt for the jacket potato and a latte frappe but this is because the choice of sandwiches is dismal and certainly unappetising. Breaking the experience into 3 categories, lets start with staff. The current 'acting' manager is certainly living up to her title - ACTING - because she certainly cannot organise ...
...longer put the shot of coffee in the latte although she did assure me it had ice in it (obviously global warming did for my ice whilst it was being handed to me). They did agree to put in the shot of coffe but told me in future it would be the powder only (don't mind if there is enough of the stuff in the drink) but if I wanted the shot there would be the obligitory additional charge. Needless to say, looks like I will now forego my pleasurable lunch-time ...

Best Indian in Liverpool?

Advantages: Great taste, great service, very reasonable price
Disadvantages: Waiting time on busy night, decoration, music...

...it was this restaurant called Millon Tandoori. I was not too impressed by the Indian deco or the Indian music playing in the background (although I've seen much worse). I guess some people like that kind of thing, it looks more authentic, but personally I'm not a fan. But I really enjoyed my meal that time, and in the seven years that follow, I must have been at least 20 times to this restaurant, so I know the place quite well. I only recall one ...
