I thought I'd write an opinion on my home city Liverpool, as I'm totally sick of the stereo-typical bad press we constantly get off the Manchester and London biased media.
Liverpool has a huge ammount to offer visitors (as is shown in the figures that Liverpool is the 3rd most visited place in England, after London and Blackpool) and is despite what alot of people think a very friendly city to visit.
If you are thinking of visiting somewhere, where better than the home of "The most famous band in the world" The Beatles and their "world famous" museum, Two of the most famous and successful football clubs in Europe in Liverpool and Everton (well I have to be honest dont I, Everton are a big club pity they are crap LOL), we have endless listed buildings and wonderful sites, there is the "World famous" Mersey ferries, The Liver Buildings and Sea-front, Albert Dock, Two wonderful Cathedrals (the Anglican cathedral (is actually the biggest of its kind in Europe), St Georges Hall (once again, one of the largest buildings of it kind in Europe), we have a wonderful and vibrant night-life (with Cream being one of the most well known and visited clubs in Europe) along with a massive china-town, I could be here all night telling you about the sites and sounds of Liverpool and you could not find a more friendly and helpful person than a scouser, who`ll stop and help anyone out. And despite what you are always hearing in the media, Liverpool is in fact one of the Safest Cities in England regarding personal crime (and there are figures to prove this).
Despite this we are constantly being slaughtered and bad-mouthed by media and people that have never even been here or have a total lack of respect for Liverpool as a whole.
Even during the war, its a well known fact that if it wasn't for the Port of Liverpool, the Germans would have walked right through our country, as Liverpool was THE MAIN Supply route from America across the Atlantic ocean, and we lost countless Ships and Sailors for the cause. So come on Media, less of the bad publicity and more of the TRUE facts please.

Excellent Op. its about time people stopped slagging Liverpool off and looked at how different this City is now compared to what it used to be.
I am moving back to Liverpool in August after spending a year in the Midlands and I have to tell you I can't wait!!! - just the feeling of walking the streets and you can feel the spirit of the city coming up through the soles of your feet!!
