PANNICKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!! I have got my exams in less than 3 weeks and will be deleting my ciao account. Thanks to everyone who has read and rated my opinions over the past year. i will come back in two or three months and begin all over again though.

Liverpool has a reputation as one of the most energetic student cities in Europe. It’s alive with music, spot, shopping and nightlife.
Higher Education plays a key role in the life of the city and the people of Liverpool are proud of their University and that is why when you arrive, you soon become part of the community, which is known for it’s friendliness and wit.
Since the Beatles took off in the 60’s, Liverpool has been a strong, vibrant music city with over 130 bars and nearly 400 pubs. Some especially recommended clubs are Cream and Cavern. Many local groups continue the musical tradition, and the cities fame attracts some top bands.
The cost of living is much lower than many other cities and therefore is cheaper to stay in Liverpool.
The list of famous names and places continues. LFC has its ground at Anfield, Everton play at Goodison Park and the Grand National Is held at Aintree race course each year.
For fans of rugby league, major teams close by Include St. Helens, Widnes and Wigan. Also to be had is Rugby Union and Golfing. Golfers are well served by a good range of local clubs, and Royal Birkdale brings major events such as the British open Championship.
The Wirral International Tennis Tournament attracts world-class stars of the court and Water sports are available near Albert dock and at the sailing centres of West Kirby and Hoylake.
Liverpool has one of the best shopping centres in Britain, and it begins virtually on the way into Liverpool. It’s arcades, malls, and pedestrian areas feature all the leading national and international chains like McDonalds and Marks and Spencer’s but to name a few.
The city also has a good range of second hand shops to suit everyone and traditional Markets for bargain hunters. The Albert Dock complex and Award winning Cavern Walks are a great place to browse.
Liverpool is a large commercial city, built on great maritime success and proud of it’s heritage. The sea and shipping have been an integral part of the city for centuries. In 1999 the river Mersey won global acclaim when voted the best river clean up beating more than 110 rivers including The Thames, Mississippi and Rhine at a major conference in Australia.
The cities two Uni’s and several other Higher Education Institutions are all working together to make Liverpool a City of Learning. So as I have said it is a popular city.
The city is undergoing substantial regeneration and is being transformed, often with major funding from the Government and EU sources.
Liverpool has hundreds of stylish cafes and bars to suit every taste. If you fancy eating out then try Turkish, Italian, Chinese, English, Fast food or Greek cuisine.
The large Number of cinemas guarantees a constant selection of movies at your fingertips. Also in Liverpool there are 4 or 5 play and opera houses including The Playhouse and the Empire theatre.
The Liverpool Philharmonic hall is a great place to go for a show with dinner afterwards.
Many of Liverpool’s public Buildings display some impressive architecture and within their walls they house some impressive collections. The Walker Art gallery, Tate and Sudley galleries boast a fine collection of art. The Liverpool Museum, Museum of Liverpool life and MMM (Merseyside Maritime Museum) are all great days out.
Finally travelling is not a problem. Liverpool has a very efficient Merseyrail system as well as an excellent Arriva Bus service.
