For me Livingston is the place on hearth which is a true paradise. It is located on the Atlantic coastal area of Guatemala, Central America. The people, and the ambience in general give a peaceful feeling that enlightens the soul. While in many ways it is a primitive place. One can feel the human elements which say this is all I need to be happy. The natural environment stands still even when foreigners,or locals might want to impose the modern life of large cities, they are held back,not so much by laws, but by the nature of the place that in silence says "enjoy me the way I'm". Livngston is a place for romance, adventure and life in general. The Rio Dulce (Sweet River)a navigable fresh water river,which ends in Livingston, where it meets with the bay that connects it to part of the Atlantic Ocean,in my Opinion is the #8 wonder of the world. I lived in Livingston as a child, and have visited many times over the years. My last trip down there was in Dec. 2002. I'm now trying to help the people with some needed equipments for a fire truck. Also, I want to plant more tropical flowers and fruit trees. However,one of my main plan is to help young people to learn skills that will help them to live a productive and healthy life in Livingston. About the daily budget: It depends on how much one wants to spend. I'm not sure about the exchange from British pound, but the US dollar is $1 to Q7.50. A person could live on $5.oo or $10.oo Per day. My overall rating of "excellent" refers to the peaceful quality of life, but not of all the hotels. A lot of people in Livingston know me by my first name which is Lidia. Thus,if anyone wants to help the town to purchase a fire truck, they could contact the tourist office, and mention that I told them about this need. A little more info on Livingston would improve the op. For example, with is Livingston, within Guatemala?
