A hotel Fit for Queen

Advantages: comfortable, well situated, good value for money
Disadvantages: none really, too expencive if you just looking for a place to flop

This really is an exceptional hotel. Built in the last days of the Austro-Hungarian empire it has survived the communist years to emerge,recently totally renovated, to be by far the best hotel in Slovenia's capital Ljubljana. Rated 4 stars its likley to go to 5 stars following the Queen of England' s recent state visit to Slovenia when she stayed two nights at this hotel. The room lighting is worth a mention, all types of light were available from soft mood to bright working light, wall lights , hidden lighting and bed side lights . Only thing missing from the room was a tea and coffee service,but in my experience this is often the case in 4 star+ hotels where they tend to push you towards room service rather than making your own ...

Advantages: lovely staff, many facilities, spacious rooms
Disadvantages: expensive

Lubljana - 'City ' living is great

Advantages: Great location, no need for a car
Disadvantages: Bed could have been more comfortable

Prison Break in Slovenia

Advantages: Great original place, friendly, good prices.
Disadvantages: Noise on Fridays. Not practical.

I spent the night in jail..

Advantages: Fun concept
Disadvantages: What if they didnt let you leave?

...hit onto the whole Youth Hostel idea much and they are pretty few and far between so I was happy to try this one out instead of staying in a hotel. I'm also one for trying out different seeming places and since the Hostel Celica used to be a military prison, and they have left part of it as cells how could I resist!
