Llandudno is seaside resort in North Wales. The long bay stretches between the two 'Ormes', the Great Orme, and the Little Orme. The main part of the town was built around 1850 and much of the victorian buildings still remain. Llandudno prides itself on this fact in particular! The main part of the town is Mostyn Street which has a wealth of shops, some well known names, such as Woolies, but also small local shops where you can browse at your leisure for nicnaks.
Llandudno is a very popular town with many attractions, the beach, although not as sandy now as it used to be is still lovely. (Unfortunatly actions have had to be taken and sea defences built) but this doesn't really spoil your enjoyment of a walk along the prom on a sunny evening. The local brass band plays regularly on the band stand on the prom in the summer evenings.
There is a pier, which is worth a stroll along, there are some small rides there for young children and an amusement arcade. There are only 3 amusement arcades in Llandudno, the council will not allow any more for fear of becoming too commercialised, which I think is a very good thing.
Other tourist attractions include the Great Orme Tramway, the skislope, coppermines and cable cars.
There are many nice restaurants, my favourite being Casanovas Italian restaurant (above Tiffanys on Chapel Street). Extremely good value food, especially if you go before 7pm. There are also literally hundreds of hotels, and B&B's, most are very reasonably priced.
