We propose some unforgettable holidays in "El Capistrano Villages", in Nerja, the privileged balcony of the Costa del Sol. "El Capistrano Villages" is, possibly, the most beautiful and exclusive Urbanisation on the Costa del Sol.
Advantages: Plenty to see and do. Lots of nighlife. Some good walks. Nice clean beach. Good selection of restaurants. Disadvantages: Can get a little noisy. Beach can become over-crowded. Too many street sellers that wont take no for an answer.

***************WHERE IS LLORET*****************
Lloret de Mar is situated in Costa Brava. It is a coastline resort and it takes about an hour by coach from Girona airport.
We flew from Manchester airport and the flight took two hours. Lloret De Mar is one hour ahead of GMT.
*********WHATS ON OFFER IN LLORET**********
We found Lloret De Mar to be a busy but pleasant resort. We were lucky though, because we were coming home as the resort really began to fill up and so we missed the high season.
During the high season this resort is very popular with 18 - 30's holiday makers, because of the abundance of nightlife that is on offer.
If like us you would prefer a holiday that is a little less busy and a little less noisy, then I would recommend you do what we did and book so that you are coming home as high season comes round!
Lloret De Mar has quite a lot to offer holiday makers and I will breifly try to cover everything:
Hotels and Appartment Blocks - there are that many, if you booked a flight and no room you could easily walk into Lloret and find somewhere to stay, at a reasonable price. Hotels and appartment blocks seem to be everywhere and they vary tremendously in quality, so there is something there to suit everyone. In total there are more than 200 hotels!
The Beach - Lloret De Mar beach is a shingle beach. It is a long, wide stretch that is sheltered at both ends by the cliff face. The beach is a little hard on the feet, so flip flops or sandals are advised.
Shops - all along the beach front there are shops. These vary from local newsagents to souvenier shops that sell everything you can think of! If you venture into the streets of Lloret you will find even more shops, although they all seem to sell the same things. Prices vary quite a lot, so it is worth taking time to look around, before you buy anything. Bargains can be found and you can also barter with just about every shop!
Restaurants - In total there are over 100 restuarants in Lloret, so there is plenty of choice. Food dishes range from traditional English dishes to traditional Spanish dishes, with just about everything inbetween! Prices we found to be reasonable and the most expensive meal we had cost about £25 for six of us.
The People - On the whole we found the people to be friendly and polite but there were exceptions to this rule. In the streets of Lloret, from about 8pm, you will find people (mainly men) trying to recruit people into bars. Some of them can be very pushy and on a number of occasions when I said "No thank you - I'm not interested" I was grabbed by the arm and dragged towards the pub or club they were working for! I found this quite distressing, especially when I had the two younger children with me! As for the teenagers that were with us, they experienced the same thing, even though one of them was under age. In the end we learnt which people to avoid and which ones you shouldn't make any eye contact with at all! Saying this though, although it was a bit of a problem and we did stop going through the main streets after 8pm, it didn't ruin our holiday.
Nightlife - If you like a drink, then this is the place for you! There are over 500 bars in Lloret and these vary from English bars, to Spanish bars to strip clubs! There is a wide selection of nightclubs, with quite a few of them being on the main street into Lloret. Out appartment block was opposite the nightlife street and although it was noisy, it wasn't over the top! Most of the clubs offer free entry, free t-shirts and a free drink the first time you go in, aslong as you have a leaflet that was given to you by the men in the street. If you want a drink but you fancy a quiet bar, then you are better off venturing into the streets of Lloret and finsing a little back street bar. We did this and found a lovely little English bar. The people inside weren't all English, but it was run by people from Brighton, Wales and Ireland.
The Lady Walk - If like us you like to explore when you go on holiday, there are a couple of good walks that I would recommend. Both being at opposite ends of the beach! The first walk is what we called the Lady walk. There is a statue of a woman at one end of the beach and it turns out she is fishermans wife, who lost her husband at sea. This walk takes you along the cliff edge, up some steps and through some countryside. If you follow it completely you can end up in Fenals, which is the neighbouring town, at a monument called Castell de Sant Joan. In total this walk took us about 3 hours, but we did find a short cut a few days later that took about an hour off the walk! This walk provides some great scenery and if you like to take photographs, you will love the possibilities this walk provides.
The Castle Walk - This walk is the other end of the beach where you will see the castle. The castle is situated on the cliff edge and a walk has been set up all along the cliff face. The castle is privately owned, so you will not be allowed to look around it and the grounds are closed off, so you will not even be allowed to get close to it, but the walk does allow you to see it from most angles. This walk takes you along the cliff face for about 2 hours and then again on the way back. It leads to some very secluded areas, where little coves could be found and little rock caves. Again, take you camera as the views are amazing. Really breathtaking on a clear day.
Watersports - On the beach there is a watersport hut. Here they offer the following activities:
*Speedboat ride - this takes about 15 minutes. You go on a speed boat ride along the coast and are then brought back to the shore. The prices for this varies, if you are willing to barter with the attendant! Generally though it is about 5 - 7 euros per person.
*Parasailing - my fiance did this. You are taken in a dingy to the main boat out at sea and then you have to transfer boats. You are then strapped in and taken up in the air. Depending on what you want you can have a short line or a long line. The long line takes you to six hundred feet in the air, which is the one my partner chose. Once you have been in the air 5 or 10 minutes you are brought in and taken back to shore. Again, the price will vary, depending on whether you feel like bartering with the attendant, but the general price is 35 euro for one person 60 euro for two.
*Pedalos - these are available from the beach at a small local charge per hour. I can not tell you how much the price is, because I don't know, but I would say it is reasonable, as everything else was.
*Water skiiing - this was also available, but I do not know the price of this either. The parasailing seemed to be the most popular sport while we were there, so I did not see that many people water skiing, but there were some.
*Banana boats/water discs - these were available at a charge of 10 euros a go! They seemed very popular with most people and it looked like you got a good 10 minutes on them out at sea!
*Nautilus - This is a big yellow boat that takes you along the coastline to the next town Tossa De mar. The trip along the coast takes roughly about half an hour and there is an opportuinty to view the fish from a glass floor on the boat, along the way. You are able to catch this boat at Lloret and go to Tossa for the day and then catch it from Tossa and go back to Lloret. The last boat from Tossa to Lloret is at 4pm so becareful not to miss it! The price of this activity was about 10 euros each!
*Glass bottom boat rides - there are two or three different boats on the beach that offer this and they charge roughly the same. You will be taken out to sea, view the fish and then brought back. You will pay about 5 - 8 euros for this, per person.
*Catarmaran Cruise - here you can board the catarmaran and take a relaxing trip along the coastline and then anchor for about two hours in a little cove, where you are able to swim, snorkle, dance on the ship or play in the water on floats. Once you have paid your boarding fee you are then able to drink and eat as much as you like, for the entire trip. In general this cruise lasts about four hours, but once you are on there is no getting off. We went and I found out that I get sea sick. We had only been sailing about half an hour when I started being sick and I asked the captain if there was anyway he could turn back and let me get off, as I was in a bad way. He said no and that I would be stuck on the cruise for the full four hours. Neadless to say I did not enjoy this activity, but everyone else did! I felt that bad at one point that when we anchored up, I nearly made a swim for the beach! It was only because I was that weak from being sick that I didn't, because I knew I wouldn't make it. The price of this activity is 36 euros.
Free Buses - Lloret De mar offer you the chance to catch free buses to places of interest. The main bus terminal is about a three minute walk from the beach and the free buses are for the following places:
Waterworld
Go karting
Marineland
You will notice that the drivers on these buses place a hat at the entrance. This is for you to drop your loose change in, if you want to. The service of the bus is free but tipping is expected by some of the drivers but not all.
We all really enjoyed our holiday to Lloret De Mar and we have already said we would like to go again. Although we had a busy two weeks there, we still didn't manage to do all we wanted to and see all we wanted to!
I am pleased that we decided to go at the beginning of May as the resort was fairly quiet, due to it being low season. As we were getting ready to leave though, the resort began to fill up and there was definate difference in noise levels!
In high season I have been told that it can get that busy you will be unable to find a spot on the beach, if you do not get there early and that the resort is very popular with people that book 18 - 30's holidays.
I am glad that we never booked in high season as I have a feeling it would not have been ideal for the two younger children, because there are a lot of bars and clubs about. In low season though, I would recommend this place as a family holiday resort.
There are lots of activities for you to do and so you will never get bored. There are lots of shops to keep you bargain hunters happy and if you like to barter with people, then you can get some really good deals.
If you are looking for a quiet holiday, then this is not the place to be! Even in low season it was busy but it was pleasant and enjoyable and it wasn't that busy that it spoilt things.
If you are looking for a holiday that offers you lots to do and see, then this is the place for you. There are activities for all ages.
Advantages: Large choice of nightclubs/bars, massive amount of shops, and a nice beach front Disadvantages: Very pushy sales/marketing, and now popular to 18 - 30s groups
I've been to Lloret twice in my life. Once back in April 2003 where I had the time of my life and most recently in July 2007, which was the complete opposite for several reasons...
The whole place now seems to have been marketed to many 18 - 30s groups who are definitely out for two things only, drinks and sex. Lots of trouble could be seen being caused by them and the police seemed very stressed out over these situations and didn't seem able to ... ...in which me and my best friend were having a good time in, lots of decent people there already, friendly staff, nice music and reasonably decent priced drinks. Suddenly when we were on the dance floor, a whole bunch of rowdy 18 - 30s groups just piled in at once and changed the atmosphere to zero. It was very noticeable to see the mood of people was now miserable and a fight quickly broke out already, in the male toilets. That was the time we made ...

Advantages: Great nightlife, many young people from other countries, loved the beach & the sea Disadvantages: Beach can be overcrowded, obtrusive sales people
Lloret de Mar is a town with 36.000 inhabitants, located in the region of Catalonia at the Costa Brava, about 80 km away from Barcelona.
I just came back from Lloret de Mar last week. I went there with around 20 people from my former class (we just finished school this year) and we really enjoyed our stay a lot. I was surprised to see a lot of families there, as Lloret is known to be a party location for young people all over the world.

Lloret de Mar is known for its great nightlife and I must say that I'm a bit disappointed. Sure, there are many discos, bars & clubs, but as you have to pay between 15 and 25 € for the bigger part of the clubs and the drinks are fairly expensive as well, we unfortunately weren't able to try out too many different discos. We actually only went to three different discos during our stay: _Tropics_, _Moby's_ and _St. Trop_ ...

...family visited the resort of Lloret de mar in the Costa Brava a few years ago now and I would totally recomend it to anyone.
We visited in the month of May as we like it a little cooler, a little quieter but also still with a variety of things to do. During this month the average temperature is around 70 degrees C but whilst we were there it was a little hotter than this.

Advantages: Lots to do, family orientated pubs & restaurants Disadvantages: Gaudy, loud, very commerial and tacky
We went to Lloret in June as a party of 15, thats four couples and kids, this was to an all-inclusive hotel that we thought would give us a cheap holiday, unfortunately as the kids hated the food, we went out almost every day. The main shopping area was lively and fun to walk through, but every second shop sold the usual tacky touristy stuff. All the bars and pubs had areas for familys to sit, often outside, with kids games or colouring in items, ... ...were great with the kids, but as a huge amount of the staff our british, african or scandinavian, paid to get holiday makers into the pubs they were the least welcoming to the kids. The beach is fine, although the sea was a worry as it drops in depth very soon after paddling in to your knees. The two main attractions of marineworld and aqualand are well worth the money as they are clean, big, and full of amusement for all ages. The dolphin show at ...

I went in June to Lloret - this wouldn't have been my first choice plce to go because of adverse publicity about the youngsters and lots of drinking and discoes etc. however we got a real cheapy so decided we'd chance it. It was an excellent week! Lots of shops in a maze type area behind the beach, very clean everywhere, lots of reasonably priced restaurants. Public transport was cheap and reliable. Advantages: Cheap, friendy staff, well located Disadvantages: Bit noisy, bathroom bit cramped
the old town at night to enjoy more traditional restaurants and bars and avoid the ticket touts. Man they're like vermin! After being stopped 3 times in the space of 30 seconds we devised a route through the back streets just so we could get to a late night supermarket on that side! The old town of Lloret is quiet pretty though, with narrow streets and plenty of shops. There are some nice Cliffside walks too. You can have both a romantic holiday or a clubbing holiday in lloretdemar - just try and position your hotel well (north-east/central lloret old town, quiet - south-west/Fennals area (another beach at Fennals) for more larger holiday complex and modern town/clubs at central-west part of town).
Hope this helps! Need a new keyboard now :)

supermarket attached to the apartments.
The only thing which we had a slight problem with was the huge hill the apartments are situated on. To get to the resort centre and Lloret beach, you have to walk down the hill, although it\'s not too far, it is a killer to get back up! For the less mobile and disabled, this could be a problem. There is the smaller Fenals beach nearby but this involves a large number of steps to go down to so is not really practical either.
The only reason I have rated these apartments as satisfactory is because of the access issues some people may have, apart from that, they make a great base for families and young people and are inexpensive. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely go back! ...

Overall we got what we paid for, cheap and cheerful, would personally avoid summer season as it could prove too noisy for families, this view shared by others we spoke to. Having said all this if you want a cheap get away in kids hols then you could do a lot worse, young people could use this Hotel as a base if you want cheap food and drink and somewhere to put your head in the morning after clubbing. We enjoyed the break which is what we wanted, but as I said I would avoid in Summer and certainly pay not much more for this Hotel than I did.
