Our family visited the resort of Lloret de mar in the Costa Brava a few years ago now and I would totally recomend it to anyone.
We visited in the month of May as we like it a little cooler, a little quieter but also still with a variety of things to do. During this month the average temperature is around 70 degrees C but whilst we were there it was a little hotter than this.
Getting there: We flew from East Midlandsairport to the main airport of CostaBrava which is Gerona. Most airports fly here so it shouldn't be a problem getting here from other parts of the country. The flying time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and once landing there the transfere to Lloret de mar takes about 45 minutes. I think this is ideal if you are travelling as a family as we did as you can be in resort pretty quickly
Accomodation: We stayed in the hotel olympic park in Lloret which we found to be an ideal family hotel in an ideal location. Its in a slighly quieter area of the resort but only takes about a 15 minute walk to get to all the shops and hustle and bustle of the main area. The hotel had all the usual features such as pool, restaurants, balcony, childrens area and entertainment but as nice as it was it would have been a shame to to venture into the resort.
The resort: The beach is a long pebble beach which can be a nightmare if trying to get a pushchair over it! but once your on there and sat on a sun bed who cares, the view of the sea is beautiful, children have plenty of space to play on the sand/pebbles and we found the sea to be plenty warm enough to swim in. There were many watersports taking place in the sea so plenty to do if you wanted. There is a boat habour which do trips to the neighbouring islands such as Calella and Santa Susanna. There are reasonable cheap at around £10 per person and a lovely way to visit other places without the hustle and bustle of the roads. The resort is made up of many little streets unlike other resorts that have one main round cramed full of shops. We stayed a week and we still never found all the little roads that led off to different shops and markets. There are lots and lots of different places to eat from traditional spanish to home from home english. Lots of places to buy snaks for the day and lovely cafe bars to sit and watch the world go by as you sip a coacktail ahhhh. At night there are the usual pubs and clubs to drink in and all the themed bars to visit. One night I worked my way though the cocktail list and can't quite remember the next day! enough about that though....
I have been informed that during the high season Loret can be a party place and can get very busy but I found the time we visited it was ideal. It all depends on what you want out of your holiday.
All in all I think this is a great holiday place and am looking forward to going again soon.
I have been to Lloret de mar and loved it. Thought it was a lovely place and had a great holiday there. I too would certainly recommend this place to others. Georgina xx

We propose some unforgettable holidays in "El Capistrano Villages", in Nerja, the privileged balcony of the Costa del Sol. "El Capistrano Villages" is, possibly, the most beautiful and exclusive Urbanisation on the Costa del Sol.
Advantages: Great nightlife, many young people from other countries, loved the beach & the sea Disadvantages: Beach can be overcrowded, obtrusive sales people

Review of Lloret De Mar, Costa Brava
Advantages: Plenty to see and do. Lots of nighlife. Some good walks. Nice clean beach. Good selection of restaurants. Disadvantages: Can get a little noisy. Beach can become over-crowded. Too many street sellers that wont take no for an answer.
