The hotel is situated in Inveraray, Argyll Scotland and is situated on the banks of Loch Fyne. With panoramic views across the loch, its a relaxing setting, the hotel itself has 74 rooms which are split between junior suites which have loch views executive Rooms and standard rooms. We stayed in a standard room which has all the facilities you would expect from a hotel, including fab little bathroom extras such as posh shower gel and soap. The room was comfortable, warm and clean and a pleasure to stay in.
A huge plus we found was the food - being vegetarian I find that it's sometime difficult to get fed in hotels but this wasn't an issue in the Loch Fyne Hotel. We were booked in on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis - each day the menu choices are on the wall facing the reception and there were always more than one vegetarian choice. Dinner was a three course affair and there were more than enough wines to choose from on the menu. Our meals were beautiful both nights and we couldn't fault it. If eating in the hotel, it is best to call ahead and book your hotel for dinner as I believe that this can become booked out.
Breakfast consists of a menu with just about anything you want including smoked kippers! The mandatory full Scottish breakfast was, of course, present. I asked for a vegetarian hot breakfast and they were more than happy to oblige. In addition to the hot breakfast, there was also a buffet section from which you can also help yourself; there was plenty of fruit, cereal, muffins, fruit juices, yoghurts and porridge. You can also have afternoon snacks sitting in front of the full window giving you an amazing view of the loch.
The surrounding area is yours for the exploring if you have a car and it's only a five minute walk into the main town where you can find the Inverarary jail - a local tourist attraction which we found a lot of fun.
For the ultimate relaxation there is also the spa consisting of a large indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and outdoor hot tub - not for the faint hearted! We spent a lot of time using the facilities and they are wonderful. Since our visit I believe they also provide beauty treatments, massages, hairstyling & tanning. There are certain spa packages where this can be built into the price. Brilliant for a girls weekend away or, as we had, a romantic couples weekend.
There is sometimes entertainment in the evenings, when we stayed there was a band playing and this really added to the experience, we had some drinks in the bar and enjoyed the evening. Although we didn't stay until the end of the evening, we couldn't hear anything from our room which was a bonus.
The staff are pleasant throughout the hotel and couldn't have been more helpful.
I thoroughly recommend the Loch Fyne Hotel - we had a wonderful stay and will most certainly be back!
There are always various offers running throughout the year - check out their website for current prices, we found that our stay was a bargain and well worth the money.

Gosh! You get about a lot. A nice, informative review. I must learn to put more detail in. It's hard knowing what to leave out. Speak again. BWs. Gillian
