Carry on Camping!
Advantages: Large pitches, nice setting and great pool. Disadvantages: Little grass on the pitches
We own a touring caravan and have taken it to France for several years for a family holiday, we have to travel during the school holidays as our children are an senior school. This has resulted in us camping at some very busy and noisy sites in the past so I always feel more than a little apprehensive when I book a new site.
This trip saw us opt for Camping l’Etang de la Breche near Saumur in the Loire Valley, it is a Les Castels site and we have ... ...been quite nice. We booked through Eurocamp Independent as we have found that this works out cheaper than booking the campsite and a high season ferry seperately. Full details of the tariffs can be found at :
http://www.etang-breche.com although the English on the website is a little tricky to understand.
I think our two week stay last August including the long St Malo crossing was about £1200.
We recieved all our information about the campsite ...

A trip to the Trianon
Advantages: Reasonable, friendly staff, location Disadvantages: Poor breakfast
...the street outside the Hotel Trianon was pay and display but only for certain hours during the day and not on holidays and Sundays. This made our parking free for the whole time we were there instead of the €32 it would have cost us otherwise.
PRICES:
The hotel has various rooms available for different prices. We went for the double with shower but shared toilet which cost €55 per night. A single room with shower and shared toilet costs €45. The ... ...CONCLUSION:
The Hotel Trianon is not a luxury hotel but it was great for us. It had everything we needed and was fairly comfortable. The owner was lovely and the room had everything we needed. We both slept really well (apart from the fact that it was very hot). The breakfast was not worth the money at all but the hotel seemed to be a fairly standard price in general. If you want anything more than a standard hotel you do have to pay a fairly hefty ...

A lick of paint and a smile would help
Advantages: Lovely grounds, grand public areas, good, well run restaurant, Disadvantages: Scruffy paintwork in halls and room, some training needed for reception
...itself a 20th century pastiche chateau built by a perfume millionaire. It just about works.
Restaurant service is friendly and efficient and food is good. Public areas are pleasant and well maintained.
Our double room was large and comforable, but grandiose, dismal and shoddy with poorly maintained, scuffed paintwork, including entry door and bathroom. Reception staff are not very attentive. They offered us no help as we struggled in from the rain ...

Pitch up and enjoy
Advantages: Well set out and safe Disadvantages: They allow dogs on the site
L' Oceano D' Or (ODO from now on) is a medium sized campsite located in the picturesque seaside town of Jard Sur Mer in the Vendee region of France. It is about an hours drive south of the more well known St Jean De Monts resort and as French resorts go its location is much better as Jard Sur Mer is a lot less commercialised.
We stayed on the campsite for two weeks in August having booked with Keycamp to stay in one of their supatents however on ... ...with regards to accommodation. A number of companies have a mixture of tents and mobile homes on the site. In addition there are some more permanent structures which tended to be owned by French families as well as a number of plots available to pitch your own tent. In terms of cost this will vary dependant on the type of accommodation you choose, the entire cost of our holiday including channel crossing was just under £800 for a 12 night stay whilst ...
