The hotel is right in the hub of things but when you step through the door you are in a different world. A world of cheerful and polite staff that do everything to make your stay a special occasion.
The rooms are beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean with robes and slippers in the wardrobe for your personal use.
The hotel offers an evening meal and if you are wanting to go to the theatre they can offer an early mealtime so that you can eat at leisure before going out.
Likewise breakfast is excellent with a full range of cereals, a cold buffet as well as 'traditional English'
The only downside is that the hotel is a little on the expensive side but this you have got to balance against its ambience, the bedrooms and public areas, and the pleasant staff. Therefore, for that special occasion, the London Bridge Hotel is the place to stay.

As some of you may know it was my birthday last month, I was a very lucky girl this year as my lovely boyfriend whisked me to London for the night to go and see Mamma Mia and to stay the night at the Hesperia Hotel.
The hotel is located near Victoria Station, when I say near I mean near, about 2 minutes away. First impressions are good, the front of the hotel has glass front so that you can see into he spacious reception area and into the bar and lounge area.
We where staying on floor two and a lift was an available for easy access to this level.
The room was a good size with twin beds pushed together, two bedside tables, a dressing table and wardrobe; we also had a large TV which had SKY.
We also had an en suite bathroom complete ...
Advantages: Affordable, modern, stylish, quiet situation, good decor, friendly staff Disadvantages: Compact rooms, average rooms, away from West End
The Southwark Rose Hotel is a modern hotel on Southwark Bridge Road just across the Thames from the heart of the City of London. It used to describe itself as London's first budget boutique hotel, but although more attention might have been paid to the decor in the bedrooms and the common areas than in other hotels of a comparable standard, I think 'boutique' is going a bit far.
The hotel is conveniently placed for business people working in Southwark/LondonBridge areas or in the heart of the City - the Bank of England is about 10 minutes brisk walk away. The hotel does have the added advantage of a car park, which is usually fairly empty. Possibly the fee charged is quite high.
For tourists, the hotel is one of the closest to Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. There is a very interesting walk through the old dock buildings ...
or at night, intact the general area around the hotel was much quieter and "safer" than the centre of my town at night. Our rooms were on the inside, so external noise wasn't an issue, but the road past the front seemed pretty quiet. Their was some noise from planes into and out of Heathrow and London City, but they weren't too noisy, and seemed to stop about midnight anyway (and weren't that frequent from about 10), although I live near to an airport so am used to plane noise.
The hotel has car parking facilities, and being some way from the centre of London I imagine it's not too difficult to drive to, plus it is outside of the congestion charging zone. The nearest railway station is Crystal Palace. Trains are half hourly from London Victoria and LondonBridge, taking between 25 and 30 mins. I would not recommend the walk from the station to ...
