overlooking the town's picturesque church.Tring is a market town set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside and bordered by the Chiltern Hills and the Dunstable Downs. The justices met here on a highway business in 1711 and from the middle of the 17th century to the middle of the 19th century, it housed the excise office. The landlord in 1832, Timothy Norwood, brewed his own beer and was also an excise man. In 1852 it also served as the booking office for the London and Northwestern Railway Company, and later the Inland Revenue office. Even after coming off the railway, The Rose & Crown was still an important and busy coaching inn and as well as its more aristocratic connection, was also a popular meeting place for local farmers. Beer was brewed on the premises until the 1860s. The original building was Tudor with the addition of an early 18th century frontage of 3 stories with a tiled roof, 5 dormer windows and an archway entrance to the yard. It stood flush to the present pavement and had a bowling green at the rear. The hotel stood in large grounds in which fairs and circuses were held. It was demolished in around 1905. At about that time it was bought and rebuilt in the Tudor style, mainly for the guests of the family, by Lord Rothschild who lived in Tring from 1837 and whose architectural influence can be seen in much of the town. The designer was William Huckvale.Each of the 27 bedrooms at the Rose & Crown is tastefully decorated with recently refurbished bathrooms with marble walls and marble floors. The bedrooms all have direct dial telephones and wall safes.

INTRODUCTION
I booked dinner and theatre for my wife's thirtieth birthday, and needed a relatively up-market hotel in London - with a bit of ?wow? factor - to overnight in. I am a frequent visitor to IC Hotel Group properties on business (these include the five star Intercontinental Hotels, the four to five star Crowne Plaza, and the three to four star Holiday Inn) and am a member of their award-winning ?Priority Club? loyalty scheme, so I decided to use my accumulated points to redeem a ?Reward Night? and stay for free. The hotel is on Buckingham Gate, with extensive frontage featuring an attractive red and white brick façade with decorative arches, reminiscent of Florentine architecture.

Advantages: Brilliant location, modern rooms, clean and friendly. Disadvantages: None I can really think of, if I had to mention something it'd be the pricey internet.
The Crowne Plaza The City is a wonderful hotel and I would highly recommend it for the next time you visit London. I usually don't like staying in London due to small rooms, unfriendly service and a lack of good value accommodation, however, this hotel had nice sized rooms, friendly and helpful service, and was good value for its central London location.
Hotel Location
This hotel is located right in the city, it is very close to Blackfriars train station (Please note Blackfriars Tube station is closed until 2011) ,is near to various coffee shops such as Starbucks and is located well for easy access to central London, the only problem I can mention is that due to the fact it is a business area at the weekend it isn't very lively and quiet with not a lot going on.

The Victoria Park Plaza in London is an amazing hotel that has very comfortable, quality rooms and staff who are friendly and professional. The best thing about The Victoria Park Plaza is that it is in a prime position just two minutes from Victoria Station and an easy walk to some of London's main attractions. I found it perfect for shopping and buying souvenirs. There were also quite a number of restaurants close by and my mum who cannot walk far didn't complain once. Although we ate at the hotel we also sampled London's China Town.
It is a four star hotel and lives up to the standard. It is situated close to Buckingham Palace, Harrods, Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament.
