I recently had a trip on the London Eye. This proved to be a great way to view London without all that walking. The views are quite spectacular taking in many of the capitals landmarks - you can even see the old twin towers if you hurry before they go for good. The trip had to be booked in advance as the demand for tickets at certain times is very high, there were a number of people around trying to buy tickets on the day only to find it sold out. The queing sytem works quite well as the tickets are booked for a particular time slot so you can plan the trip around your day out. The down side to advance booking is of course our notorious weather - the first visit we had planned was booked up which was quite fortunate as it was misty and wet all day! All in all though well worth a visit and it will be around long after the Dome is forgotten.
